How much do you spend maintaining your PVs? Per month? Per year? What do you replace and how often?

I have just bought the joyetech eroll. As far as I can see, the parts that will need replacing every so often are:

tanks -- last a week each?
batteries -- hopefully will last at least six months
atomizer head -- not sure. dead in a month?
e liquid -- 3-5ml a day will do me I think

I'm just trying to figure out the total cost of this.

Also, any tips on prolonging the lifespan of PVs would be great.

Tanks? I think you mean carts and they'll probably last closer to a day if you use them once. You can re-use though.
Batteries. Yours is 90mah with the 1000mah charging case? Six months? Probably not.
Atomiser. Probably longer than a month if you clean it properly (have a look on ECF for that, I ain't doing all the work here;))
E-liquid. Depends on personal usage.

I tried to figure costs initially.... gave up pretty soon :)

It all depends if you just want to stay with your joyetech or start exploring other PVs or mods. At first I believe that the most expensive will be the e-juice since you don't know which one you like and there are tons of them out there. The other thing is that you can get lots of recommendation but taste is personal.

If you want to explore other mods and PVs, then equipment cost will increase. But in the long run, it will be cheaper than analogs and more healthier.

I am also curious. 2 weeks in, i've spent $150 on my vaping needs.

It's like buying a new refrigerator to replace an old energy hog. Up-front, costly. Long-term, big savings.

HEY! Instead of trying to tax us, shouldn't they be giving us environmental-quality rebates?

I spent about $300 in the first month on toys + waaaaay too much on juice in the first couple months. Nowadays between DIY and having everything I need already I spend about $10 a week w/ the occasional splurge of new gadget buying craziness. Basically I just buy replacement heads and juice though. Anyway u look at it it's still a helluva lot cheaper than smoking.

Im close to 1K, but it stops here. Ive been selling my DIY juices for money to buy vendor juices :D and giving away my beginner gadgets to friends to encourage them to switch. Overall worth every penny.

In the last 1 1/2 yrs have spent $600 but I have whack of PVs and enuff stuff to DIY and vape for the next 8+ months so over the long run including everything bought and costs will be $22.22 per month if I vape until Nov. 2013.
Right now vape cost prolly around $6 per month- heads, cartos + juice.
Still have 60 ST 1.7 cartos and 30 vivi heads.
The big savings was learning to DIY 1 month after beginning and watching for deep discount sales. Won't buy anything unless it's deeply discounted.

Realize though when I began vaping I made sure all my vape stuff was 510 threaded cuz it was the most common threading and I knew 510 sales would be common.

If you stay with exactly what you have now for the next year you should be near your guess for maintenance:) When in doubt, always guess you'll need more then you think you will ;)

One's first year vaping is usually their most expensive year. You are trying to figure out what you like best in your battery, juice delivery system and juice. What you like in the beginning may not be what you prefer a few months down the road (in your ecig choice, juice delivery system, and/or your juice) . Don't short change yourself on your budget for that first year. Its worth trying out at least a few new things to stay smokefree in the long run :)

I spent my first 2-1/2 years exploring the vaping world trying lots of new toys. As long as I didn't spend more then I would have spent smoking it was worth every penny to me:) Now I'm sitting back and enjoying my stash. I've given myself a budget of $5 per week to cover those few things I'll need in the coming year. I'm sure my credit card is going to go through withdrawal symptoms from lack of use shortly :D
