Good Morning Major!

The blazing heat outside -ground temperature 100, heat index 104-106- has convinced me that the five stints in my heart do not need to go out and cut the grass today! My wife is lounging on the couch trying to adjust to new beta blocker medication fighting sleep, almost like a baby does, but still awake.

I hope your day finds you well and energized.

For some reason this quotation has sprung to mind. My Mom, then only 88, gave it to me 6 years ago it is a philosophy of life:

1.) Shameless optimism.
2.) Boundless confidence.
3.) Total abandonment.

-C.S. Lewis from "Expect nothing-you will not be disappointed"

Cheers....I'm off for a cool soothing drink and thanking God for air conditioning!

Major I've drunk more than I can expect (I'm on holidays!), however, due to the lack of words in normal way, I just want to say that you are a very inspiring person (activity on this forum, the child initiative, etc) and I wish you the best!

It's 00:20 in Portugal, time to sleep since I want to have a great day tomorrow, so I wish you a very good night!

Good Evening to all in the Western part of the world and Good Morning to our friends just starting a new day!!! I am finally back in some rhythm with my sleep/activity patterns thank the Lord!

I have always been a nocturnal type and my doctors say don't fight nature so it is night where I am but still my morning! I continue to be so amazed and thankful for my friends and fellow vapers! There is so much caring and compassion for a guy many don't even know.

It sounds maybe a touch corny but I am learning not to care about what something sounds like as long as it is from the heart. That said, I am finding a renewed optimism about the future and everyone's thoughts and prayers as well as your words of prose and wisdom play a big part of that!

I went to my shrink today. Yes, I go to one and have since I had to end a life the first time on my profession. Don't knock it if you can find a good one as I was able to do. ;) The point anyway was his comment when I first went in today> He isn't given to handing out one-liners so when he does, they tend to have more impact.

"Well now Steve, you look better than I have seen you in many years". And he was right. It is SO easy to get wrapped in our own world and problems that we sometimes fall into the the pit of thinking we're alone in all of our problems. I explained to him what had transpired with the forum here and all. I only see him every 90 days so we usually have to catch up.

"I can see why you're smiling then" he said with a smile of his own. Again, this is a guy not given to random chatter. As someone said earlier in this thread, "GG is not a religion" and he is correct. BUT! What this community or family as we like to call it is, is a definite lifestyle. That applies to vaping itself of course.

I would hazard a guess that 95% of the vapers have characteristics of dependent behavior. I know I do and have. We also tend to be habitual but we also care or we'd have just kept using tobacco instead of seeking an alternative. If you actual read and soak in what some are posting, the care really shines through.

At the end of the day, we are all blessed whether we can see it that way or not. In that regard, I along with many others are rich to a measure that money cannot buy. I will again add that I hope someone else that is down and in need of a pick-me-up finds this thread. If you know someone that may need to be uplifted, point them here or do the same for them as you have done for me.

A common catch phrase we tend to use a lot is that Karma is a ***** and that can be true. On the flip-side, it can be a reserve of goodness that you may not see for now but when you really need it, it cannot be replaced with anything else. I will sign out for the moment by saying that a lot of you are showing your wisdom along with your caring. Yard, you need to compile a book my new friend. :toast:

Have a great day or night as your case may be. And yes brother dspin, I admit I am envious of CaptSteve but it is richly deserved for him. :)

Steve

Oh and most of those that have known me will tell you I am back in the groove when I can take 1000 words to say what most would with 100!

Sorry but that's just who I am but you could use it like counting sheep! Who needs a sleep aid when you can just read a rambling post by the old dude! :p

I loved your last hearfelt and newsy post! Thanks for such a clear look into your life and sharing with us all.

Which reminds me (of course!:)) of a joke and and yet another quotation! (CAW)

Joke:
Two psychiatrists were walking down the street toward each other. When they met one said, "Good Morning."
The other psychiatrist passed him and thought, "Hmmm.....I wonder what he meant by that?"

"Neurotics build castles in the air; psychotics live in them and psychiatrists collect the rent."

Good morning Major!

I'm listening to BBC4 extra- yes, here!

Your verbose prose is still not as dense as Marx- the guy had no idea of where to put a full stop so one and a half sentences to a page is not unknown.

Luckily for you, this is not handwritten or a pile of bird seed would be trapped in the folds. Just a contribution from my 'kids' to ensure you well fed and happy- puffed millet for breakfast with some fruit? Their idea, not mine! I must say, it does sound like a bowl of sunshine and infinitely nicer than Weet[a]bix!

Now get out there and do like a Parakeet, jump in your breakfast feet first!

:)

failures are small steps to success prior. Every time I fail to make something for GG, I feel very nice that I tried and because I made the next step to a wonderful product.
The best thing on Major's post was when he said that doctor told him that he seems better. Our mood is reflected to our face

I see what you are saying imeo.....of course one 'learns' from their mistakes...lets' hope so.. learn the lesson..and move on..is that what you are saying. Learn it..'keep it's lesson' close and go on to the next place you need to be..to 'grow' too...and we must 'keep' these lessons as part of us..still we always live in the moment no..? From one moment to the next we decide what we choose to do and where we go...? I see this will be very interesting ...I love his post. It is beautiful and so full of his feelings for you all and what this thread and the care that it brings with it means to him. I truly understand that believe me I do. Thank you for your thoughts Imeo...appreciate them. How about these then...?

There is no failure except in no longer trying. ~Elbert Hubbard

Supposing you have tried and failed again and again. You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call "failure" is not the falling down, but the staying down. ~Mary Pickford

One fails forward toward success. ~Charles F. Kettering

Failure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently. ~Henry Ford

Because a fellow has failed once or twice or a dozen times, you don't want to set him down as a failure till he's dead or loses his courage. ~George Horace Lorimer

I'll be back....you all take good care....enjoy your day/evening depending.............*
