Good Morning/Day/Evening to you all from both Mrs. M and myself! :) I really can't express how heart warming it is to see so many great friends and new friends so faithfully taking the time to post good wishes and prayers. :)

Even a tense time like we had with her has its upsides though when all goes as well as her surgery went! My only brother who I had not seen in 3 years flew in because of it and we have had a super time catching up as they say. My oldest son who runs a federal prison and rarely gets to come for a visit also got a couple of weeks leave.

It had been almost 2 years since we had gotten to see him and his wife and my other 2 grand children so call it a bonus atop the blessing of a successful surgery outcome. I might add that as scary as it was, the doctors said she was fortunate to have it manifest itself when it did as they were able to make proper repairs. According to them, any deviation in how it all went down and we may not have been so fortunate.

So again, many thanks and blessings to you all. I don't know why for sure but I keep feeling like there is someone that has read this outpouring of caring that is also going through difficult times. I understand some may not want to be as open as this has been but I can tell you that the uplifting feelings and support generated by the good folks here more than make up for anyone being shy or reserved about letting it be known they too are in crisis.

Besides, isn;t that the way it is supposed to work? If you are down for whatever reason and those who care lift you up, what are we supposed to do? Well in addition to being thankful I mean... ;) Why pass it along to others who need it of course. Everything in life is so cyclical that it would be incredibly naive to think there are not others who need the same support I have received.

I may be an older guy but not too old to learn life lessons or have them re-enforced so even if you are hesitent, that's okay. We'll still hold you up with our thoughts and prayers! :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and again, Mrs. M and I thank you all!

Steve

Good Morning Major and Mrs Major!

It was time that something wonderful happened- and it did. Glad you got to spend time with your brother and his family. It seems we need a bit of an excuse to catch up these days and nine times out of ten, it is often something not so good.

I'm getting used to being a bird nurse again. Moki is being very brave. When one door starts to close, another opens- Gizmo climbed onto my shoulder for the first time last night. Alas, this doesn't make me stop reflecting on Moki's life and all the difficulties he encountered in his first few years (including the loss of his breeding mate and most of his toes). My heart feels heavy that it has only for the seven years he has been in my care I have been able to give him a happy life.

Sounds great Nate! Look forward to it! :)

Me too Brother, I tried last time I was down there but they had us hoping something fierce from 5 am till around 8 PM. It was ridiculous. Hopefully this time will be a little more mellow and I will hopefully have better ability for transportation this time too.

Keep your chin up and have a wonderful day my Friend;

Good Morning Major! Good Morning Mrs. Major!
I'm finally on the last day of my fun work schedule. I don't know if it's my toasted state, or what, but I decided to try to post this video today. It seems to have a somehow haunting quality for me. How I stumbled on it exactly I'm not sure. Since so many Pilots post here I thought they'd like it. Since I feel that it speaks to us all about love, loyalty, sacrifice, and the nature of man and the universe I thought it was appropriate. I hope I get the link right and that you all like it.
Consider it my "Quote of the day":)

Good Morning Major and Mrs Major. Life is so amazing... All we need to do is be conscious of the miracle of life in the moment and we experience bliss. Gratitude means being receptive to life, and in this thread I find so much receptivity its amazing. I am so glad your wife is ok and you had a chance to connect to your family. Enjoy the day my friend.

Moki was blessed to spend his time with you and his energy will always be with you. Now Gizmo will have the same blessings."Better to have loved and lost, then never to have loved at all"

Good Morning Major and Mrs Major!

As Cicero liked to say at the start of his letters: " If you are well, I am glad. I am well." Pithy Romans! I'm so glad that Mrs Major is recovering well from her operation and that you both are getting plenty of support.

Thank you to Fanky (or fank you to Fanky?!) for your kind words. You are right of course. :)

The sun is heating up and the Equinox is blowing hard. Soon the dust will be whipping down the street in great clouds while school children huddle under the trees for shade. Sprinkler and fire bans and barbecues, beer, cricket, wine and cheese. Standing under a cold shower, drinking iced water, black cherries and Pohutukawa flowers at Christmas.

Since you love the beach so much Major, here is a pic of those Pohutukawa trees in bloom near a New Zealand beach. They say these beautiful trees can only grow where they can smell the sea.

Good Morning Mrs.!

Good morning you international eclectic electric friends!

You who read should be forewarned
The following post with care adorned.
If your belief in love is ought

So a little verse to cheer
the times in life fraught with drear and dread and unsure waiting....
banish the severe and persevere for rhymes to like so dear....
and bred the pure anticipating!

Major Misses Mrs. Major
-yardbyrd

"Major misses Mrs. Major.
Mrs. Major seeks Major favor!
Mrs. Major misses Major
When she seeks a picnic's flavor...

While they feast where sea meets sky and land
There they laze and dream while hand in hand.

Major misses Mrs. Major.
It seems she went to see a neighbor...
They bask in love of friends they can't embrace;
A caring crowd that lives in cyberspace.

Mrs. Major misses Major...
When he is gone to find his saber
Major misses Mrs. Major...
but they make the job light labor.

They absorb the aura from the Net
Then pass it back...and you can bet
The energy has compounded
for all concerned who are astounded...

By the simple joy that will always raise her....
When....
Major misses Mrs. Major!"

Good Morning Major! Good Morning Mrs. Major!

I loved post #538; I can almost taste the orange marmalade on the toasted scones and tea, tea? Tea! Make mine Earl Grey if you please!

I hope and pray that the healing process is ongoing with you Major and your spouse. I guess sometimes it may be hard to see how you help us, who post here, in your thread. The very fact that you have shared with us all so freely makes this place special indeed.

I for one often feel like I'm at the end of my rope and slipping hence today's quotation!

"When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on."
--Theodore Roosevelt

Good will, good healing, good company, good cheer, and good day to you all but especially to you and the Mrs., Major.
