"Make it long, make it tough, make it water proof?" Was supposed to be the title. Apparently, it posted it wrong.. Anyways.

Sounds crazy but let's think about this for a sec. After reading a tidal wave of forums from joys, to the 801s and to the chuck cigs, I thought why not create a cig that is water proof. Durability is important but so is the essence of being water proof incase of accidental happenings where it might be dropped, wet, and even soaked on occasions nothing can be done to be fixed.

Further more, being it a lithium battery, it can be dangerous when it gets wet. Any thoughts?

*Smoked in shower lots* set the smog up on shower door rail. LOL

actually some of the units are better being waterproof but you gave me a idea.

Floating device That has a sealed compartment & Cap for fisherman hunters etc.
Hates that heavy splash & half pack get ruined or a full pack. & I would be soaked.
Will be looking at a box mod for this. as stix to me suck & easily misplaced or drops lost. Also Lacking voltage compared to box or Larger unit.

Still... It would be the complete e-cig against everything from brutal force. If you can mod a cig that can last long and can't be beaten to death, then why not make it water proof? I got this idea while I was smoking my e-cigs and looking at my casio watch at the same time. I know this isn't a great example, but even g-shock casio still impresses me that no shock, frost, or even water deph can destroy the mechanics from within. 8-o

well looking for a box to fit the 18650. since it does better then a 14500.
And I hate having to epoxy everything in. although I probably could make a circuit to hold it all. will have to check them out see what they have.
I don't need usb or led's or anything just need a box with connections for a 18650. haven't done 5v yet.

Making the battery and switch portion completely waterproof should be trivial since there are waterproof flashlights which is the same thing. Just o-rings at threaded joints and a silicone cover over the switch. However a completely waterproof e-cig is impossible since the air intake for atomizer and cartridge hole are needed to even function. If you need airflow then it cannot be waterproof not to mention battery venting for Li-Ion batts.

Perhaps some sort of two piece design slip cover that would have to be removed prior to use then replaced to ensure a waterproof seal. Then again once you have a two piece you can simply find a waterproof case or tube for the same waterproof function without the design hassle.

The best you can hope for is a smart design that during normal use is water resistant. Something that will function in the rain without water getting into all the wrong places.
