Hi all. I switched from a pre mixed by manufacturer 60pg/40 vg ejuice mix to a 100% pg and added the extra vanilla flavoring, I bought each from Freedom smoke USA. My thinking was that I can buy 100% pg and mix in my own food grade VG making a 50/50 mix. I have used this VG in the past to water down some intensely flavored juice.

My problem is that since doing this I have blown through 6 cartos in less than one week. After about 12 hours of use from one carto I start getting a burnt taste. I am pretty sure that the problem lies in my mixture since 1 carto was lasting me 4 days to 1 week before I switched. The initial flavor and vapor is great with my mix but the flavor quickly changes to burnt.

Any recommendations on how I can fix my mix or do you think it could be another issue. Is there another ingredient that I am missing thats causing this. Also the mix is somewhat thick but it still rather fluid in movement. Its not like molasses.

I vape with a Joye eGo and current carts are Kanger 510 carts

Thanks for any help.

Seems that your juice is thick enough to not be wicking into the heating coil quick enough. This lets the coil get too hot and singe the surrounding material.

If there is any way to use less VG, that would be the best course of action in my opinion.

Otherwise you are going to have to thin the VG down with either distilled water or pure grain alcohol. Ideally if water is used to thin VG, then it should be 20% or less and if alcohol is used then it should be 10% or less.

Mix the VG with small, measured amounts, of your choice of thinner and check the flow rate with PG. Work up the thinner VG with a little thinner a little at a time until the flow of both are fairly close. Then mix the thinned VG with your PG and it should help get the life of your cartomizers back to typical.
