This idea occurred to me as I was checking out some LorAnn stuff at Hobby Lobby. Tell me if this is a completely nutty and unsafe idea.

All the LorAnn stuff is sold in the hard candy craft aisle at Hobby Lobby so I had the idea to just try and make a few hard candies with one of their little kits. I'd cut the nic down to proper levels first. Do you think I could make my own lozenges?

Seems like they might come in handy in places where I can't vape?

Might depend on what stage you have to add the nic. If it did not have to be heated much, it could work IMO. Let us know if you give it a try.

I don't really want to sell it. Not looking to make a profit. Just something that would be cool to have around. I'm hoping someone will come along and tell me about the safety here or ingesting nicotine directly like this. The drug stores already sell nicotine lozenges as a quitting aid. I think there are between 2 and 4mg in them. If I stuck to that level, would it be safe?

I remember reading somewhere on here that a couple of people did something similar. One melted down their favorite hard candy and the other used cough drops, in the microwave. I don't remember specifics, but I think they waited til the melted candy/cough drop was still just hot enough to stir the nicotine in. But whatever you use, it needs to be a strong enough flavor to cover up the strong taste of the nicotine (kind of peppery).

Check out TB on youtube, he has some good ideas. He experimented with making a mouth spray, at about the 6:35 mark. I have made my own and you definitely need some kind of strong flavoring to cover up the taste of the nicotine (I had no ill effect when using it).

I had never thought about putting it in candy but I've definitely been tempted to put a few drops in my coffee. Thoughts?

I would think it would be okay to do but you need to be very careful about the amount that you use.
It would be the same as ingesting from nic gum or lozenges IMO.

I prefer to vape because the actual habit part of vaping / smoking is most addicitive for me.

absolutley prefer to vape but i keep some of the lozenges around for when i know im not going to be able to vape sometimes...and since i already have the DIY flavorings, nic etc i figured i'd give it a shot...
