It was center chest. Pulling the probes out stung a bit, not the actual tazing. That was more like a paralytic seizure...

Lol
I've been tased with a sheriffs office taser ( on a bet, not due to a crime..lol)
I don't know what type of device they use in Prague, but the ones the deputy's use in Florida will lock your muscles and drop you like a stone.

I'm a pretty tough guy, it paralyzed me to the point I couldn't think.

If he had held the trigger I wouldn't have been able to breath, and would have lost control of my bladder.

The Barbs were no joke either.
Still have a small scar.

I lost the bet.
lol

She released as soon as I went to my knees. Oh, yeah, ruined a nice Under Armour shirt. I didn't catch the model, she wouldn't let me play with her gear...

It locked me up. Bystanders said I reminded them of the Rocky statue in the movie. But as soon as he let go of the button, I still hit him. Then a stood there shaking my head for a couple seconds and it was on.

I've seen some people in here go back and forth on security officers using excessive force and claiming people are wrong for stating security officers are equal to citizens. So it took a while to find, but I dug out my manuals I got when I was doing security. Granted this is under the "arrest" category, it still applies to security officers are not above the law. When I was doing this job, I worked at gated communities on the grave yard shift, condos, and concerts on some nights. As you can see, security officers are not above private citizens. Security officers have no police power.

This is true however an off duty police officer working security would be within the law to detain you if he or she felt necessary. They would have to identify themselves as LEO however

Ok, exactly what law is violated by pointing a laser pointer at another person in those many places you are aware of? Beyond that, the allegation was that the "suspected offender" pointed a laser pointer "at the stage," not at another person.

Procedures for removing a person from a crowded venue generally would not begin with tackling them. The risk to others as well as the potential for riot or panic caused by that level of escalation indicates to me that the guy doing the tackling had no training and no brains. But if you want, go ahead and explain the proper way to handle a potentially laser pointer possessing "suspected offender."
a laser in the eye can potentially harm the eye. don't
be so naive.
in a dark, crowded, noisy venue one does not waste time
banding about making polite conversation. its to dark to
detect whats going on around you and or how others in
the crowd will react. i am sure his ten companions were
completely sober and passive and friendly but,you don't
risk confrontations in such a scenario. you grab the culprit
and remove him from the area. this has been standard technique
at clubs and arena's for years. you have safety and liability issues
to consider.one of those issues is not starting a melee in a crowded,
dark and ,loud venue where other patrons may be harmed.
the victim in the story says he was tackled. the OP
says he was drug away. 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.
you remove the threat, perceived or real as quickly as
possible.you ask questions later.
of course there will be mitigating circumstances in any
situation but, lets face it.this wasn't an ice cream social.

I went on vacations to the West Coast (California, Utah, Arizona) for a month back in 96. All was cool. People were generally cool. Friendly atmosphere. When I flew from San Francisco to Las Vegas, the stewardesses were friendly too (!) and we all clapped hands and sang.

I know that was long ago, but how come things go downhill that easily?

that's right.if you detain someone illegally.
that does not mean you can't detain some one legally.
