Don't think it makes much difference, manual - push button, take drag, release button, finish drag. Auto - start drag, end drag. The biggist part of the manual, you can get the atty hot before you start the drag, and turn it off while you are finishing the drag. The auto, it doesn't get hot untill you start drag and doen't turn off until you complete. I find the manual to be better and more fun to play with. Try both and get the ones you enjoy.

I started out with an auto and while it's nice like when driving I did notice it was not quite as enjoyable. The initial start would produce little vapor and at times it felt like you had to overdraw to get the atty started. With the manual I can prime my atty and then draw normally which feels more like an analogue and produces better vapor in my opinion. Before I had switched I didn't think much of it but now I almost exclusively use my manuals. The whole pushing a button thing became a non issue almost from the start and now unless I actually think about it I hardly notice that I did it.

I prefer the manual's.

I find the perform better - auto's can be tempermental, and need to be primed and hit "just right" before you can get the most out of them. With manuals, it's easier to get more out of them, dragging however feels right to you.

I also admit, cost is a factor. If you flood your atty, and it leaks a little, you can kill the battery. You *will* kill more auto's than manual's, because they are just more delicate. With my manual's, I can scrub the threads with alcohol, or flood the hell out of my atty, without worrying if I'm going to mess up the battery.

I have an auto PT, but all my batts are manual. I'm keep it that way. And whenever this PT finally dies, I'm getting a manual.

I like them both. Its nice being able to have your hands free while driving, gaming, cooking, whatever. But for me my manual batteries last all day. The Autos I am lucky if I get a couple of hours on them. When I am out and about I usually have both on me. I usually use the Auto until it dies and switch to manual mode. If it is your first e-cig and you can't afford to buy both go manual. They are easier to care for, last longer and way more dependable. Personally I think if I supplier was being creative and wanted to differentiate themselves they could include both in their kits.

In the ECF library there is quite a long discussion on which is better manual or auto batteries. I have Red Dragon and it is an auto with no timed cut off. It works really well however I do suspect that it does cut down on how long it lasts between charges.

The battery life thing may be due to the battery going off "by itself". When I started, I had a mix of manuals and autos. I noticed the autos "firing" from wind (driving with the window down), loud noises, music in nightclubs... really funny to be in a l-l-l-loud bar, and have that LED light up in time with the beat of the band! Weird stuff can set off automatics, and you may not be noticing.

The flipside of the coin is... well, how many ppl have had a sudden burning sensation on the thigh, then realized that something is pressing the button of the manual in your pocket? lol

It's strictly manuals for me now... I have ways to carry one that won't press the button, but I don't have ways to mute the band.

My experience is that manual batteries are better, especially for my Ego battery....Bought a 5 pack of auto batteries and they didn't last at all...
Was very disappointed...Could have been just a bad shipment,,but still they are not cheap...Never had problems with man batty for my Ego...
Sticking with the manual...Just my choice....from my own experience....

My new manual battery from madvapes is insane. It a Boge. I went 14 hours on a single charge and its still going. And it seems like I have been vaping constantly all day. I burned through about 1.5ml of juice today. Like I stated before Im lucky if i get a couple hours on the autos.

what kind of battery? an ego?
