Last week I ordered the Storm tank mod because I kept missing out on the Map tank mod.
Of course, a couple days later I caught the map tank in stock and ordered one of those.
Well, a couple days ago the Storm came in and I wasn't too impressed to be honest.
I could see where a lot of people had trouble with these leaking. The cap assembly is very
finicky and while I was struggling to get that on properly the body was sliding up and down on the bottom plug. I managed to get it all together and it seems to be leak free. I don't know if I'd want to put that to the test or not, but I don't plan on carrying these around anyways, I'll probably use the clearomisers for that once people start showing a little more success with them. Unfortunately I think I got a V3 CE2 with mine because it definitely wasn't wicking well and I used one of my thinner juices. ( no icky taste but the coil looked tight, to be fair though I may have pushed the wick down a little trying to get the mouth piece on ) To add insult to injury, I couldn't get it off the batty. The body was sliding around while the plug wasn't budging. I finally got it off using needle nose pliers.
Needless to say, I was feeling a little used and abused, and was waiting with more than a little trepidation for my Map to come in. It came in today and my first impression was that it was definitely machined and very professional looking. ( no offense Stormy, I know I couldn't have done any better trying to cut those pieces by hand )The ceramic cup was off center just a hair but I filled it up with the top grommet off, no need for syringes or any drama just poured the juice right into the tank. The top grommet went on with no fuss and I put one drop of juice in the cup before putting my drip tip on. I let it sit for about ten minutes and gave it a try.
Hallelujah, I finally got a CE2 that didn't taste nasty or dry up after the first vape. I could take 3 vapes in a row off this thing with no burnt taste. It is only 2.4 ohm ( only one they had ) so it is a little too warm ( dry? ) for me, and the flavor was a little washed out, but I am using cinnabun and it doesn't have a real kick you in the mouth flavor to begin with. As I sit here typing this novel ( sorry, I don't get out much

), I have been vaping away at my usual pace without even thinking about it and have not had any burnt or dry wick taste! All the parts fit snug and I don't see any leaking, even after doing the upside down shake. While I don't think I would leave this laying on its side for any long length of time, I would have no qualms about laying it down for a few minutes if I needed to. The vapor production is good. I am not one for taking big monster draws and I still get a pretty good plume of vapor. Kudos to Bruce and MAP!
Bruce, on a side note, I have seen a few users comment about the awkward appearance of the Map tank. I have a killer idea for a box mod that should appeal to anyone. Contact me.
