maphisto dripper

I have a maphisto dripper and i was wondering if i can just take the tip off to put juice in or if i have to take the cap off? Every time i take the cap off its hard to get back on because of the gasket it came with. I tried a smaller gasket but it broke. I dont know if its meant to be taken off every time i want to drip or not. I do know its a pain in the ... to put it back on

If the juice goes in, no reason you can't drip through the tip. That, actually, is why they call them "drip tips." And if you'll get your finger wet with juice and rub it on the o-ring, the top cap will go on and off more easily. They like a little lubrication.

Top air flow, so, ok to fill through drip tip hole, just keep an eye not to overfill. Could leave at least 1/16" or more bellow the juice ring retainer.

simply start by dipping about 5 drops though the drip tip and see how many draws you get from that before you get that tell tale sort of metallic taste before you get a dry hit, then work up a couple of more drips at a time until the thing floods then back off a wee bit and you have cracked it. Do that once and you'll know how your attie works for ever - it really really is that simple (and pure!)
