I'm not implying anything about what went on with the Precious, I don't think any of us really know enough about the full circumstances behind the issues that project experienced.
My statement was related to the possible link between too much time pressure and poor quality in this or any other project. People are understandably very excited when new things come out, but we must be aware that piling on the pressure can lead to problems that are often avoided if people are able to be a little more patient.
The Project Management Diamond (some people refer to a slightly different triangle principle) tells us that the constraints of Time, Cost, Scope and Quality are all delicately balanced and when one constraint is altered, it has an impact on one or more of the others.
We've all seen and produced poor quality ourselves when something has been rushed and I'm just trying to do my best to keep people updated with the progress and let Mark get on with producing a top-notch product.
