I have a couple of very fruity juices that are good but come off really floral. Is there something I can add to to tone down the floral part? I thought about maybe a little of a bitter chocolate. I'll probably try airing it out and steeping also.
Are you possibly using too much flavoring? What percentage? Sometimes too much will give your juice a really perfumey taste. You can try adding a couple drops of lemon juice, vinegar, or tart & sour.
Probably 90% of the current Wizard labs lineup is TPA, including that one. I'm not sure what the recommended % is for Blackberry though, sorry. Other TPA flavors range from exceedingly low (e.g. black sesame @ <1%) to rather high - certainly all the way up to 20% for a few at least. On the average, I'm guessing 10% is pretty close, but I usually start with less than that anyway and work up, at least on the first attempt.
Potential mix-in's for such a fruit (staying with BB as the primary) might be: sucralose (sweet), ethyl maltol (flavor enh/some sweet), citric and or malic acids (or even a touch of lemon juice for some "pop" or "brightness").
Some people love "fruit+ice" flavors too, such as you could make with menthol or especially koolada (ethyl methyl lactate IIRC - cooling effect w/out the overwhelming menthol taste).
Many flavorings won't make an awesome juice just by themselves unfortunately.
I tried blackberry again after a 3 day steep and it sort of reminds me of TPA's black cherry. Sort of like a "Black Cherry Cough Drop" without the menthol or sweetness. It's decent now. Probably would go better blended though.
