Matching up batteries and cartos?

I've been doing e-cigs for over a year now, and I am having trouble with batteries and cartos matching up, especially with the newer stuff out there now.

For many months I have been using the CoolCarts cartos from Vapor4Life. Recently, I have started using XL Clearomizers from MadVapes. Now the problem is that both of those newer generation cartos don't always work on every battery.

I have bought batteries from V4L that would not work with their own CoolCarts cartos, unless you pulled up the center post of the battery a bit, and I have run into the same problem with some of the new diamond batteries (these purchased from Vaporkings.com). The Wow cartos will never work unless you pull up the center post of the battery. The Clearomizers will sometimes work without pulling up the post, but not always. Both work fine on the first generation standard KR808D-1 batteries. The problem is that I'd rather be using one of these newer (and supposedly better) batteries, but I don't want to have to pull up the battery post every time. I have broken the center battery post on a couple of the batteries after pulling it up several times.

One thing is certain. I will continue to use the newer cartos, as there is no comparison between them and the older standard cartos. I will stick with the first generation batteries if I have to, but they don't seem as good as the newer ones, and I'd really rather use the newer style batteries. I'm just tired of trying to get the cartos and batteries to match up.

I've read threads on here about the batteries and threads about the cartos, but nobody seems to address this center post issue, and I haven't seen any threads about matching up the batteries and cartos, though there are probably some, but searching on that is just a mess of threads with no clear answers.

So, does anybody have any recommendations on batteries to match up with the Clearomizers and/or the CoolCart cartos, especially the Clearomizers, as that is what I'm sticking with at the moment?

By the way, I use auto batteries that are standard length.

Possibly try a 901batt-808carto short adapter. 901 is the same threading as the 808. I have a mod that was nominally set up for 808 but just wasn't getting good carto contact. The vendor sent me an adapter as a comp, they've worked on every carto I throw at it.

They add about 1/4" total to length. GoodProphets might have them ($1 plus S&H), else try litecigusa or analogalternative. $1 - $3 price range.

Y'know ... the center post of the cartomizer can be tweezed up a lot easier than fooling with the center post of the battery. You'll never kill a battery if you only fool around with the posts on cartomizers.

It's one of those "been there done that" deals where I had to go buy another battery because I forgot batteries cost more than cartos.

I really don't want to mess around with either the battery or cartos. I want batteries to work with my cartos (specifically the XL Clearomizer).

I've spent hours reading on here recently and still have not come to any real conclusions, and now I'm at the point of throwing money away by ordering stuff to try, which may or may not work.

I've ordered a couple of Volt batteries to try, and I've ordered a PigCig battery to try (this will be my first manual battery).

This forum seems dead, but I don't know where else to post this. The vendor threads are full of fanboys (girls also included in that), who worship the ground the vendor's walk on. There is no way to get a straight answer in one of those forums, or in fact, to get any information that is not heavily weighted to the vendor's side of things. Anybody asking a question that might possibly be negative to a vendor is immediately pounced upon, called a troll, and/or flamed right out of the forum. Besides, my question is specifically 808d-1 related.

So, before I have to order from several more companies, does anybody else have any suggestions?

Besides a hit from my VV Ego Booster and my Go-Go, the VOLT batt/carto matchup works the best for a great vape, if you're trading off bulk for a cigarette sized PV.

VOLT cartos alone are great. To me, they have a warmer vape and great TH, more than the Bloog. VOLT cartos even perform well on my Bloog batts.

I haven't ventured too far into the 808 realm, I've found what works for me and for a cigarette sized vape, with a decent price, I'm very happy with the VOLT

Thanks. I'm looking forward to trying the Volt batteries. I hope they work on these cartos.

Are they V4L cartos?
I have V4L, Volt, Bloog and the MF style from Nhaler. It's been my experience that the company's cartos and batteries work best when used together.
They are all 808 threads but the insides of the cartos are different. The newer horizontal cartos (Volt, Bloog, Nhaler) work best with the newer regulated batteries.

When I used V4L cartos on the other batteries I got very poor results (little to no vapor)
The horizontal cartos on the V4L battery produced a burnt taste.
Hope this helps

This helped me very much:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-battery-use-xl-clearomizers.html#post3682885

It is a perfect solution for the batteries that don't work.

I would also like to add that I ordered some Volt batteries from SmokelessImage, and they work well. I will be using them for my auto batteries now.

I have been vaping for over a year now, and I had never tried a manual battery before. I always thought it would be difficult to deal with the button pushing, and it would not be as much like an analog cig. So, while searching for a good battery, I decided to give the PigCig from LeCig.com a try. I ordered one of the 900 mah batteries to try, and I absolutely love it. I ordered 2 more and received them today. I am a fairly heavy vaper. The regular pen style 808 batteries last me about 2.5 to 3 hours. This PigCig battery lasts me 11 - 12 hours! Plus it is sealed, so no death from juice leakage. I will be happy to put that problem behind me. I probably should post a picture of my dead battery collection.
