Hola vape world,

Quick question,

Recently purchased SVRF's satisfying Rasberry dragonfruit tea flavor. And it is quite good. It's listed ingredients are VG, PG, Flavors and .03 nic.

I figure all is well, however I then notice it has a warning line saying may contain Diacetyl acetyl prop aceltyldyde acetone and formaldehyde. I'm thinking What Da Efffff!!?!?

Is this a prop 65 required label or do some modern e juices still funk with this garbage? Any insight is appreciated.

FYI I have emailed the company...no response yet.

Best,
T$

Hi T,
Sounds like a CYA situation. Is the company located in California?
The EU/UK has gone bat scat crazy as well.

This is why I vape flavourless, i would toss it in the garbage.
You might but I don't think most of us would. We live in a world of misleading info on labels when companies are forced to put things on there that do nothing more than keep the general public in a panic.

I know some folks are allergic to some things (like peanuts) and once proven I can see some of the warning labels being necessary but that label on a bottle of e-liquid has been forced on the vaping community with no proof whatsoever that it is necessary.

I wish we had more companies in Canada willing to put these labels on their bottles.

That would be fine if you could actually believe what the label said. Look at the above picture of the Aspire Nautilus 2. Does it contain nicotine? That's beyond stupid to be forced to label it that way.

Next:
  • Sugar free salt,
  • Bottled water : now with 50% less arsenic
  • Low sodium salt
  • Cereal box: now with 50% less rat droppings
  • Low cholesterol apples sold here!
  • Dog medicine form the vet with label: may cause drowsiness, do not operate heavy machinery, do not take with alcohol
  • Make sure you hold the correct side of chainsaw while operating
  • Bicycles with labels about "not for internal use"
  • Peanut butter with a peanut allergy warning label "may contain peanuts"
  • don't eat the mints in the urinals
The worse/scary part is that some of these are actually real.

There's plenty of information out there if you search for it. It's the kind question that you shouldn't except an answer from strangers on a forum. Some of us have done enough reading to feel comfortable using these flavors. Others choose not to. It's something you need to decide for yourself. There's an awful lot of money and effort invested in demonizing every aspect of vaping. Flavoring is just the tip of the iceberg.

Lol it's California, where -everything- is deemed a potential health hazard and required to don various warnings. Chances are, every juice made there is required to display a prop 65 warning label. I'm surprised California hasn't mandated water be labeled as a known toxin "water is known to cause hyponatremia which can be fatal". At least that warning would be true and based on "real" science even if unlikely to occur. Like the story of the boy who cried "wolf" too many times, California's prop XX warnings are just ignored by most people (including me). Your best bet is to do exactly what you've done, contact the manufacturer and simply ask.

I don't get... we smoked knowing full well of all the nasty ingredients, proven mind you, and there is a chance that some ejuice has something harmful (not proven) and it's FREAK OUT TIME. smh.

I smoked because i was addicted to the nicotine,i always worried about the chemicals in them. Now that i found a better nicotine delivery system in vaping i no longer want to inhale these chemicals but that's just me.

Absolutely not.. these are scare tactics and misleading and only there for fear-mongering.

These are food additive (at least the better brands are), and have been tested thoroughly.

And either the chemical isn't there at all, or have yet to be proven as a dangerous substance (and probably never will be).

Some of these flavourings are from extractions, and that would mean that they'd have to put the same labels on the food stuff (fruits and such).

That cereal (and any processed food) you eat might contain mouse parts and insects, even nuclear waste or meteorites dust. Should they put a warning about it on everything.

At some point it's just crosses the ridiculous line.
