This strawberry McCormick food flavoring did not work.

I added 5% to 100% vg and no taste-----Then added 10% and no taste----Then added 20% and still could not taste any strawberry and finally added 30% and vapor ----Stopped---

I decided to order some Made for eliquid Flavorings and try this again.

I read at a vendor that what I have here at home is Extract and the real flavors are 4 times more concentrated than McCormick

extract so will scrap the idea of using this stuff. WIN_20150108_153243.jpg

McCormick (or any flavoring usually found in grocery stores) is not recommended for vaping. Too many additives, coloring, etc.

For all things DIY head on over to the DIY ELiquid Forum.

Make sure to read all the "stickies". Also check out dannyv45's post: Recommended Reading For People New to DYI

For a juice mixing calculator consider using eJuiceMeUp

I don't just buy all my flavors from one flavoring company. I primarily use Flavor Arts but there are some flavors that TFA/Inawera/Hangsen/Capella and others do better (and better/best is subjective depending on what you like). Start out with a few recipes you want to make, research those flavors to see who does it best and then try making a few small batch recipes.

Here are some threads you may like to read through for different flavoring companies. Many of the posts include recipes and comments about a specific flavor.

1. Flavor Arts (FA) - Pure Vapes has 3ml FlavourArt flavorings
2. The Flavor Apprentice (TFA) - The Flavor Apprentice Flavoring Thread
3. Inawera (IW) - Inawera - a few reviews
4. Capella (CAP) - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/637270-diy-capellas-recipe-thread-v2-0-a.html
5. Hangsen (HS) - The Hangsen Thread
6. VapingZone (VZ) - New Super Concentrated Flavors & New Super Concentrated Flavors - Part 2

Thank you for the Plug Susan and those are some very nice resources you recommended which are well worth bookmarking. Here is some recommended reading resources.

My blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice.

E-Cigarette Forum - dannyv45 - Blogs

Then read hoosier's blogs. These blogs concentrate on fine tuning your mix and give insight on additives.

E-Cigarette Forum - Hoosier - Blogs

Then read Boletus's blog's. These blogs concentrate on formulation of nicotine baces regarding proper calculations methods for figuring Nicotine concentration as well as safety.

E-Cigarette Forum - Boletus - Blogs

Then read Ginger's book "E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid". It is a book which I've contributed to that delivers an in depth easy to follow guide in the art of DYI.

E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid

I recommend viewing VPLive Vape Team Episode #82: DIY Safety and bookmark it for future reference. It explains safety in all aspects of DYI.

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.

Lemon, almond, coconut, and mint mc cormicks, they will flavor a juice but only lemon and almond flavor keep it's taste, no later staleness, they almost guaranteed to have diketones/diacetyl that we do not vape..
But I concur a few drops of many concentrates made for e cigs is a whole bottle of theirs..
They really are missing out in e cig flavoring, IDK why they do not make a dedicated e cig line like Flavour Arts, etc. did, their flavoring in food is really tasty..

I also a few years back tried using mc cormicks, when I bought the right concentrates it was eye opening. whoa, this is doable..

Danny's blog is awesome -- once you get acclimated a 30ml will cost ya from 5 cents to 1 buck to vape, the savings in bulk are huge..
