I was realllyy trying to avoid posting this but I have tried pretty much everything I can think of and need some advice.

*When I use my mech mod (smok Magneto) I can feel the threaded area on the tube (the magneto has a tube that extends to accept 18650 batteries)... get very hot....Like stinging hot. I have attached a picture with the two areas that will sometimes get hot.

*It doesn't occur around the entire tube. Only in 1 spot. So if you would wrap your hand around the hole threaded area...you will only feel it in one area...the stinging heat does not go around the entire threaded area.

Things I've done
*Cleaned everything ..over and over and over again. I mean full break down of every little part!
*Sanded and polished connection points.
*Checked Atomizer resistance. (Igo-W stays at an even .30ohm on my meter. TOBH stays a consistent .31 on the ohm meter)
*I use Sony VTC4's on this mod. It happens with any of the 3 different Sony's I use.

I don't think it could be a short with my atomizers...but maybe I'm missing something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! :2cool:

Just to add, I don't notice the battery heating up scotching hot its just the threaded area. After repeated use I notice my battery gets warm....but the battery is not getting instantly hot like it would with a bad short.

Thanks again for any opinions. I'm thinking I might try a new set of batteries tonight. I have been using the same three in rotation for the last half a year. Just find it hard to believe that could be the case since they all still fully charge to 4.2 and seem to be in great shape.

Thanks man! I think u hit the nail on the head. I just found out the way I hold it might cause it and leads to exactly what your saying I think.

When I put pressure on the middle section. The threads are breaking a slight enough connection in 1 spot and causing it to heat up realllly hot. When I hold it all the way at the bottom and put my hand gently around the threaded area...no heat at all!

Hopefully this makes sense. Really appreciate your comment D. Waterhouse!
