Mech Mod Vent Holes

I may just be overthinking things, but I noticed this while messing around with my pegasus while waiting for batteries to charge. The vent holes work great (allow air to leave the mod) with the lock ring up (unlocked), but locking the firing button (lockring down) also blocks the vent holes. Is this normal? Is it a potential cause for concern? Never had a battery fail, but I'd like to think my mod won't turn into a grenade should it ever happen! lol

I don't have a Pegasus, but I thought it was probably like my Nemesis and would have internal air pasages. Seems to be the case as per the website:

"Vent holes hidden in the switch enclosure to prevent from interfering with aesthetics".

It sounds like the vent holes are pretty much the opposite of the ones on the Nemesis mod. On the Nemesis, the holes are blocked when the lock ring is fully unlocked, so unless you remember to leave it a few turns loose, they are blocked when you use it. This is the most likely time for a battery failure to happen. I would much rather the holes be blocked when the ring is locked, like on your Pegasus, considering something else would have to fail on the mod to cause a battery failure when the switch is locked.
