To prime it takes like 2 to 3 pumps then just once to use maybe it was the earlier pumpers like the Luna or Spruzza??

Probably. That's why I qualified it. A few pumps is what I would expect. But one of those out there took like 10 pumps to fill and the reviewer wrote it off as a useful feature for people who over squonk with a bottle.

What's the best way to travel along with a squonk mod to avoid leaks etc.?
I pocket carry all the time. As long as I'm not wearing tight pants/shorts, it's not a problem.

In my opinion, it's no more leak prone than anything else. Actually, I've never had a leak in my pocket, etc. Just don't squonk and put it in your pocket without vaping some of the juice off.

Really, it all depends on your atty, wicking, and squonk frequency. As long as you don't leave a pool of juice in your atty, it's not going to leak on you.

Now, depending on the fire button on the mod, etc you may hit the fire button, but this is no different than any other mod.

When I pocket carry, the only thing in my pocket is my mod.

If you are flying, or going through the mountains driving, etc, I believe folks say sometimes the pressure changes can cause the bottle to pump into the atty. I don't think this is any different than an RTA or regular tank though.

One way to cut down on leaks is to vape off most of the juice and then close off your air flow on the RDA (and turn off mod) before throwing it in your pocket.

Some squonk bottles are really soft, others are much stiffer. It will come down to personal preference as to the kind you end up liking.

Some squonk mods are kinda poke your finger in the hole, some are much more accessible from say the front (like the Recurve).
Poke your finger in the hole would be less likely to leak, but may not be what you like to actually use to vape.

The door of the Pulse X is like the other pulses, right? The cutout is reasonably small that it's doubtful you'd accidently squonk in your pocket. Squonks with more exposed bottles, like say the Topside (single or dual) are the ones that are more problematic. I think the Pulse dual is also more exposed, much like the Squeeze and Squeeze 2. I have 2 mech squonks with covers sorta like the Pulse, which is a fairly common design, that I have no issues with pocket carrying. Both do have fire button locks
