Ok... so no wires, and no switch. Button touches the battery directly or indirectly. So like the KTS2, switch is a prong that touches the post that touches the battery. That makes sense:).

The no wires before made no sense. There's not much difference between a metal wire and a metal leaf... no switch is another thing:).

that would be my guess (altho i have no clue what a KTS2 is)

now, inside the wood, there still needs a metal electrical path from the negative of the battery to the atty. in a tube mech, that's the tube. in a wood mod, that will either be some sort of metal fixture inside the wood. OR for non-traditionalists, wire and solder and such :)

"Mechanical" has been equated to higher quality and lower voltage drop. A lot of the cheaper clones use wires of too small a gauge and with poor solder points. So they break easily and have high voltage drops. That's why some people latch on to no wires. Just like Pusardo did in his review of the Grand

The current Reo Woodvil is too tall for comfortable use of a top fire button IMO. But to make it shorter in height, the strength of the mod may be compromised, unless some other material other than wood is also used in the construction. Rob is the mod master, I trust him fully to know what will and what won't work. Looking forward to seeing what he comes up with in due course.

Definitely would be for me, anyway. I just picked up my 18650 Woodvil and tried to hold it in such a way I could fire an imaginary top button.....ain't no way for these hands. :(

I think we may see both versions I need to do some modding and see what I come up with . Both options for button placement have there advantages

After 4 years your starting to get the hang of this selling thing Rob ....

You know the faithful will need both versions .... ya you know it.

Whereas I have always wanted an ebony/quilted maple Woodvil evver since I saw MXBNW receive one of the VVWs, I will be happy to get any Woodvil from this run. She will be my sober/inside the house mod while my trust Grand will be my imbibing/at work mod.

Anyone else targeting any particular wood combos?

I wanted a full Ebony 18650 from the last run but there were none. Had to settle for Maple Burl and Black Palm. Love them both although I haven't used them as of yet. Just waiting on an invoice.

There was one full ebony 18650 in the last run, I wound up with it. I think there was another one that went "under the table".

Honestly, all the woods are so nice, it kind of makes sense to go after a particular wood that there are a few mods of. Increases your chances versus being set on one type of wood and battling 20 other people to get it. Easier said than done though once you have your heart set on one parrticular wood type.
