Anyone else targeting any particular wood combos?

The cocobolo is really nice to live with. It is very hard and as you probably know is often used for knife handles and gun stocks. It can polish up to something that nearly feels like glass, it has a beautiful feel to it, and seems to be scratch resistant due to its hardness. A polishing wheel like the cotton disk that you put on the end of a bench grinder (to polish metal parts) works really well, if one likes the smooth finish.

I agree 100%. I spun myself into a frenzy during the VVW sale trying to get an Ebony/Quilted Maple and was more frazzled than excited that night. This next sale night, I am going to target one or two that I don't hear everyone talking about and try to enjoy the sale rather than pounding cheap beer to settle my nerves. :)

I never talk about what I am going after! You would be joining the group of us that sit back and hope our picks are safe!

Not planning on purchasing for now. IF I do it will be just to get a certain wood or one that I just have to have!

Somehow I always get lured into the whole process. Seeing them start out as boxes, then take shape and get that first finish coat.

I've never seen a Woodvil in the wild so my question has to do with the button...is it a "clicky" botton or soft like on the VVG? Reason I ask is that with my VVG I don't take it out with me because in order to be sure it won't fire on the car seat, cup holder, pocket, whatever I have to turn it off but with my Grand I don't worry about due to the top botton placement. That and it is easy to lock.

If the button is clicky then it shouldn't be an issue.

The lacewood has turned out to be one of my favorites!

I love my Lacewood too!

Wonder if Robert will be shopping for more exotic woods, or if he already has lots of stock.

It would be exciting to know what blocks of woods are sitting there waiting to turn into REO's!

A soft clicky button on what he has done so far.

With all that I have it is important to turn them off if they might be put in a position that would press the button.

No one but Robert knows what the button on the mechanicals will do, or where it will be placed.

18490s are like the VV Grand. The 18650 are clicky.

This, I have a priority list that is not discussed and then go after it. So that one, no one mentions, could be getting a lot of attention on sale day. Plus some of us are know to show interest in particular ones just to mess with someone or throw red herrings :D

I'd show interest in a pink stabilized just to bug Dennis even though I wouldn't buy it, or maybe I would.

I told two trusted people in private messages which one I was going after and got it. Then I picked up a second one on sale day. I don't recall anyone else mentioned the one I wanted, which made me feel both secure and insecure at the same time.

I have a feeling one of the wood mods will look like a grand and the other will look very similar to a standard woodvil . I am trying to get caught up so I can have at some wood mods . I am in the middle of putting a second floor on my shop and a addition on the side for wood tools. All my noisy compressors and the tumbler are being moved . The vibratory tumbler is killing me I need it out of the main shop

As pretty as that lacewood is I don't think I could look at it long ( trypophobia). I am all about the cocobolo, maple, ebony, and zebra's of course. And hope to someday have a stabilized but somehow I don't see that happening any time soon. Regardless if I get 1 or not I am thrilled with what I have already especially since I never thought I'd ever be in a position to get a REO, much less 2 woods and a metal grand!! Life is grand in Reoville!! :):vapor::2cool:

Whereas I have always wanted an ebony/quilted maple Woodvil evver since I saw MXBNW receive one of the VVWs, I will be happy to get any Woodvil from this run. She will be my sober/inside the house mod while my trust Grand will be my imbibing/at work mod.

oh me me me! i want a purple heart mini so bad, none were made in this past sale :/
