Ok, for those that interested my friend that was running .13ohm has sagged his spring. It still works but the button is very "springy." I compared it with mine and sure enough it's shorter. So I would say stay above .25 and you should be golden.

Thanks for posting that. 0.25 ohm is pushing 15A and 50W, 0.13 ohm is nearly twice that and pushing the limits of any 18650 battery.

Centered even with the airholes. About 2.5 mm I'm guessing. I could measure later. But I hold the cap off the atty and rest its bottom edge on the lip with which it seats and center the coil accordingly. I do this with all my builds. Then I might adjust slightly higher or lower depending on its performance. I might lower these a bit to assist in wicking or increase the coil ID because at 0.3 ohms I can't get more than 3 long drags before having to re-squonk.

Whats the absolute limit on the VTC5's without getting hurt, is it just below .2? my multimeter only does to the nearest ohm, might have to make one of they ohm readers so I can get a more precise reading.

my 30A efest are getting bad now! they seem to have started falling off the cliff faster!

Excellent. I meant to take a pic and video before wicking and one to show vaporization. I will when I rewick. I love 26g. I just ordered 25g to play with. 24 is a bit slow unless the ID is small and wraps are few.

I run 26g most of the time too, it's good to work with and has a nice balance between heat-up time and sturdiness.

I have some 20g too, but that's for stupidity like this on an igo-w4.

For long term bulletproof coils you can use Rene41 wire, but it's a swine to work - think blowtorch, pliers and all that - but it lasts months.

not sure if you like open ugly coils or nice neat micro style with your rene!? but there is an easy way to get that tight microcoil with it without even heating it

Wish I would've got 26...I got a roll of 24...heat up is fine but that's a looong coil to keep a reasonable ohmage on the wrap...

I tried to search, so forgive me if this has been asked/answered already-

ordered 2 Mini repair kits. the springs are HUGE compared to the old ones. is this normal?

I fitted a mini 2.1 kit recently and it worked fine. I think all the new springs are the same size. Just mount the new spring and see if the battery fits OK.

Add me to the melted spring club. Atty shorted out on me. I wasn't a believer of fuses or the collapsing springs since none of my other mechs had them, but now I'm glad the Reo protected my face and my batts from a potential meltdown.

What type of battery did you have in there when you melted the spring ernest? Just curious... Sorry to hear about your Cyclone, but it should be fixable with a new insulator.
