Yeah....but if it's purchased as a complete kit the price will only increase a couple dollars (per previous comments). Buying now and then upgrading yourself will cost more as the SO kit is something like $25 last I recall. That said, the benefit of having the unit now probably out weights the added $20+ cost factor. I actually should do this too, I'm just being cheap.

i think you nailed it... why spend the extra when we are so close to having new Reo's fitted S/O?

If anyone jonesing for a Reo to do S/O with, an old school stock unit will not do it for ya... I know I know, everyone and their uncle does S/O on the stock setup ... but more people have toasted their contacts and buttons than not.

imo once you have a taste for it anything north of say .75 ohms just won't cut it.

So kudos to Rob for fitting all Grands (and some other models) with S/O .... it means that from now on, a "stock" Reo will be an S/O device!

and they said this was a passing fancy...

I think I read back somewhere in this thread that the new spring (in the subohm kit) would make a difference when put in the woodvil.
IT's been said that the biggest voltage vampire in the Reo is the spring and the new one should improve on that greatly. So putting one of the new ones in the Woodvil should lower the voltage drop and would make the same coil hit harder or for the same hit move to a higher ohm coil and get better battery life.

I have three toasted reos in a drawer waiting for these kits. (Yes I am a slow learner)

I have been running around the 0.5 to 0.55 ohm range in my stock REO Grand for approx 4 to 6 months without a single problem.

I did drop a spring last year when I ventured in the 0.4 ohm's but been fine staying at or above the 0.5's.

Same spring, same contact just a file once in while and all is good.

Can't wait for the SO kit. May treat myself to another REO as I only have one and don't use any other mods. It's a bit knocked about but still works faultlessly. I took it up Kilimanjaro 2 weeks ago and it was good all the way to the summit. :)

There is alot of patient peeps here at REO, I bought mine a few months ago after seeing this thread. I vape .2-.3 ohms usually and so far the only thing my REO does is collect dust. While waiting for the upgrade I preordered the DNA30, got that already, vapes great for clearo's but not so much sub ohms, so was really looking forward to getting the REO fixed.
I guess, from what I gather we are waiting for springs, and these springs are taking months to make?

Everyones so polite here I hate to ..... but comon peeps, waiting months for springs. Starting to turn my REO into nothing more then a paperweight.

And yes im new to REOs and you all love yours, but put yourself in my shoes. Spent my money on something thats been no good to me for at least two months now. And its fustrating to wait months for a fix to see why everyone loves theres so much, guess ill go back to my DNA30 and wait some more.
