First time Reo guy. Besides the button covers what other accessories should I order? What are the magnets for?
I was just going to ask this EXACT same question but in a new thread. Thx for asking

magnets are for the doors. After a year the magnets some time fall out. Get one as a back up but I have had 2 reos and only had to replace the magnets after a year of use on both of them. So no worries.

I'd just get two REO grands. That'd save you additional postage like a week from now when you order your second and save you a whole lot of anxiety waiting for your next one too.

That and a couple of spare springs should you short your REO with a bad build or something. If you do, the spring will require replacement because it's a safety feature. :)

With the upgraded contacts, do you think it would still be beneficial to get another spring?
What about RM2 post screws? Additional O-rings?

On the Accs page, assume the tube kit comes with a bottle as well? I assume so for $4

Lastly, the black Delrin button cover, what is this? I don't see it in the site picture. Assume just like the aluminum but black (would seem obvious) but the site picture isn't a black button.

Just got shipping notice... I haven't been so excited to get some vape gear in at least a year (7 years in normal human life).

Rob milled my catch cup to fit an Origen2 b/f, installed s/o kit with new button pin (was melted)...

this is one oldie but goodie Grand thats been hanging in there over the years and is a testament to the foreverness of Reo.

Yes, even the new spring will sag dropping the battery away from the contact (protecting yo ...) if you short your mod. It will be out of service because you cant reuse a shot spring.

thanks for the reminder; ergo ... don't short your mod

at least until we can get backup springs

I'll be getting my first SL/SO once Rob gets the time to make a purple one for me. It's sexy and I know it!

Sent from the zoo using Tapatypo 2

Ditto.

Patiently awaiting this initial buzz to pass in order to place my SL LP order. One day we shall have our dream SL's to add to the Reo family. No rush. :D

Got my contacts works great!, with my vtc5 there still is a spark wondering if noloax should still be used,

I'm getting a small amount of sparking with my VTC4 as well.

I'd maybe hold off on the noalox. It's not so good at all for plated metals from what I remember because it's a little abrasive and what not, you dig? I could totally be wrong, but I swear I've read that more than a couple times here and there on the interwebs.

Whatever you do, don't file the contact down. A dozen or so pages back Rob clearly stated that. Old firing pin maintenance routine does not apply to the new pin.

The new pins are a soft metal, plated with an even softer metal...

Try cleaning the top of the battery good with some rubbing alcohol, I'm guessing the battery is the bad part of the equation here.

Cheers

With my 10a fuse mod I got:

.47 VD.

The new kit improves, makes safer and easier than the fuse mod.

The most difficult part of the whole deal is the spring installation :)

Here's a pointer:

Hold the spring in the mod with the forefinger of your left hand. Turn the mod upside down. Look thru the hole in the bottom of the mod where the screw goes and move the spring until the holes are aligned. Hold it there. Drop in screw and turn. Bam. :)

The entire install in an already tore down grand took about 10 minutes :)
