There is alot of patient peeps here at REO, I bought mine a few months ago after seeing this thread. I vape .2-.3 ohms usually and so far the only thing my REO does is collect dust. While waiting for the upgrade I preordered the DNA30, got that already, vapes great for clearo's but not so much sub ohms, so was really looking forward to getting the REO fixed.
I guess, from what I gather we are waiting for springs, and these springs are taking months to make?

Everyones so polite here I hate to ..... but comon peeps, waiting months for springs. Starting to turn my REO into nothing more then a paperweight.

And yes im new to REOs and you all love yours, but put yourself in my shoes. Spent my money on something thats been no good to me for at least two months now. And its fustrating to wait months for a fix to see why everyone loves theres so much, guess ill go back to my DNA30 and wait some more.

The following have been pretty clear in all the posts I've seen.

  • Current limitations
  • Mods to do if you cannot wait
  • fabricator missed first ship date
  • Fingers crossed that they don't miss 2nd date

So....your DNA30 doesn't work as expected at sub-ohm either. Is that a paperweight as well?

What is worth having is worth waiting for. I can't help but think if you had done your due diligence and read up on things you wouldn't be in the position you are in. Why not do the fuse mod? It'll get you to where you want to be. I don't think any of my 6 Reos are paperweights. Do you also go to the DNA 30 threads and put it down? Rob ordered gold plated springs to reduce voltage drop and ordered them from the lowest bidder to save us as much as possible. I guess you've never done any large business deals .... maybe you have, when was the last time you ordered 10,000 pieces of anything? Yeah It's taken time and we will wait it out. Why? Because it is worth it.

ETA Judging from your post count you haven't even asked what we could do to help you find your perfect vape. If you did you wouldn't be puffing on a clearo because I'd bet any Reo will blow away the DNA 30 all day every day. Rob makes the best mod and has the best customer service you can find. But one of the greatest things about owning a Reo is the Reoville community. Where most people want you to have the best vape ever and will go to no end to help you find it. Good luck with your clearo SLM.

sell it.
problem solved.
while you're at it, sell your useless DNA 30.
then get a mech and enjoy carrying around an extra bottle of juice to go with a pocket full of spare batteries.

you bought something that wasn't what you needed. the information was all there to find all along. this is far from robs fault. he knows some of us enjoy a little more power. he has graciously gone out of his way to accommodate that. he didn't even have to tell us. he could have just debuted the kit on his site. then there would be no wait. he was open and honest about it all along. however, not telling us wouldn't have made the ship date any earlier...

i see no reason to be upset.

Simple questions or just reading through some of the stickies would have given you every bit of information needed or wanted. This is by far either the friendliest or at least one of the friendliest community on ECF. I find you usually get tons better help if you don't stroll in to a place bashing what people love most and just simply ask for advice or let people know of your problem and they're usually willing to help. I used to vape at around .4 ohms... my .90 coil on my RM2 with my reo grand has blown away flavor of anything else I've ever vaped. If you're just after clouds, that's one thing, but I think you'll find most around here are after the flavor and well, it's great on these devices.

Also the customer service is second to none, Rob frequents these boards and is extremely helpful and courteous, not to mention very accommodating! For someone running a business and caring for a family of porcupines, that's pretty incredible.

none the less, here ya go, would have given you some info you wanted had you just read the sticky post before ranting on about how your reo is collecting dust.

For the record, I do not think Rob could have done anything more to expedite the delivery of the sub-ohm upgrade. It's worth noting that the springs are made by a third-party supplier, and that supplier was the one who's late.

I'm pretty sure Rob thought the process would have gone much quicker. If he knew about how long it would have taken, he probably wouldn't have started this thread way back then. He'd probably have waited until a few weeks ago until he made the announcement to save himself of the trouble of having to deal with our multiple PMs about the upgrade. :D

If anyone wants these upgrade the most, that would be Rob. The delay is probably costing his business some lost sales. Based on the posts here, I know I am not alone in holding-off additional purchases until these upgrades come out. While it may seem like a simple delay of a sale to some, it's still lost profits for that month/week that he could use for additional business capital and other expenses. While I would like to purchase a mod (or two) now, I simply cannot spare the extra expense of purchasing additional kits down the line.

That said, I think it's unfair to quickly bash siklilmonkey for his little rant. Maybe he didn't read through the entire thread so he doesn't know the entire story. Personally, when I read that the Reos were mechs, I automatically assumed it can take low-ohm coils just like most of the mechs in the market today. In this case, I think it's better to educate rather than to scold. But I'm a patient guy, so others might not share my opinions. :)

To @siklilmonkey: As many of the others here have pointed out, there is a treasure-trove of information in this board on how to make your Reo work with your preferred coil resistances. The mods take some work to do, but they are worth the effort in your case while you wait for the upgrades. It all boils down on how much you want to vape at 0.2-0.3 ohms if you'd venture out to modify your Reo or not. Just remember to be safe when you do it. I don't want to read about you blowing-off your face in the news. Aside from that being very painful, it will give the rest of us vapers a bad rep. :p

If you are having a hard time waiting for the kits, play Robot Unicorn Attack . It should be enough to keep you occupied long enough. :D
