Apart from a few other things in this article that are debatable, wouldnt using an e-cig to atomize hash oil simply coat your lungs in oil and lead to lipid pneumonia?

I finally got my comment to store.

Cobb and Abrams claim that smokers attempting to use e-cigarettes for smoking cessation will most likely find them ineffective. This is contradicted by the evidence. In numerous population surveys of e-cigarette users, between 31 and 80% have stopped inhaling smoke. Compare that to the success rates of nicotine replacement products at best, 7%.

They claim that taking the devices off the market would not force current users to return to traditional tobacco products. A recently published article in the journal Addiction reported that 77% of 2,962 e-cigarette consumers are using them to prevent relapsing to smoking.

E-cigarette users have already tried repeatedly to stop smoking with the products Cobb and Abrams are pushing, and 86% found those products ineffective. So Cobb and Abrams are suggesting that e-cigarette consumers stop using the one thing that finally worked and switch back to using the products that never worked. Sorry guys, that sounds like a dumb idea to me.

Yeah, the site has some mobility issues. I tried to register via fbook and that failed, finally got registered the long way. Now it says I have private messages, but get an error trying to access. I added the comment-

Let's see now, Dr. Cobb is a paid consultant to Healthways Inc, the current owner of the QuitNet system. They make their profits based on an internet smoking cessation site which heavily promotes smoking cessation drugs.

Then we have Dr. Abrams, who has received grant funding from multiple pharmaceutical companies that have investigated or manufactured smoking cessation drugs, including Eli Lilly, Merck, Glaxo-Wellcome, SmithKline Beecham, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Pfizer to name a few. He's also served as a senior scientific advisor for Johnson & Johnson who sells a number of NRT products.

Did they divulge these conflicts and do they have anything to gain by seeing popular non-pharma, much safer than smoking products like E Cigs and Swedish snus not on the market? You betcha, but anything is fair for these people if it keeps their profits coming in.

The problem is it while sounds good and is good press/marketing for those companies that sell NRT and smoking cessation drugs to claim they only want to help people quit smoking to saves lives... when a product ACTUALLY arrives (PVs/e-cigs) that does just what the others claim… this same group of people become absolutely terrified because they realize if people actually do stop smoking permanently there will no longer be people to purchase their products – then eventually they become some useless/redundant group/company/org and hence become unneeded -- aka unemployed.

Likewise, think of cancer. I personally believe there *IS* a cure for cancer. However, there is far far far way too much money in treatment of cancer. To actually cure a cancer patient today means no future treatment tomorrow.

Likewise, think of green energy. Between solar, wind, tidal, and geothermal there is enough energy for every man woman and child alive on the face of this planet (or who will EVER live) and in abundance. However, there is far far far way too much money in fossil fuels. Do you really think oil and gas companies from top to bottom honestly want you to power your home and vehicle and obtain all your energy needs for pennies on the dollar from a free and unlimited source such as the sun? Hell no. In fact, they want to harness it first and pretend they own it... and sell it then to YOU!

Another awesome yet simplistic example is your traditional light bulb. A light bulb you ask? Yes, they can make light bulbs that last 5 or more lifetimes. But… if you only ever need to purchase 1 light bulb in your entire life… in your children’s lives, and in your children’s’ children’s lifetime… let’s just face it… there's simply no money for the company in making a product that lasts that long, they WANT the product to have a lifetime and go kaput so you do go out and buy new light bulbs!

How about cars? Isn’t it amazing coincidence that everything in your car starts to have issues riiiiiiight after that warranty runs out?

The reality is that PVs/e-cig’s work. They work too well. And a whole hell of a lot of people with laced pockets will who make their living off taxing and regulating and your addiction and your poor health will suffer because the product DOES work. Remember money is to be made in treatment, never in curing.

It is very clear that VocalEK and Rothenbj are paid ZEALOTS of BIG TOBACCO! They come with these so called "FACTS" and "SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCES" that are IN NO WAY representing THE REAL TRUTH! Where do these people even come from? Did they ever receive grants from REAL and RESPECTED MEDICAL COMPANIES? Did they ever do any REAL RESEARCH on PROVEN NRT's? No, of course not.
