Because moderators aren't chosen based on seniority in the forum. They are chosen because they are helpful members who volunteered when we asked for volunteers to help out.

Because guys like me and you would never accept that position Houdini!(Although I myself have never been asked),ECF is a reflection of todays economy IMO! You take who you can get at todays rates! The forum also has a limited supply of veterans...as a good portion "Flew South"! I just like to hang here for the news,alternatives to smoking,and the comradery of my fellow veterans(those who are left!)

I know where Houdini is coming from...and I also know he has helped hundreds of new members with questions and answers.I would question why some of the veteran members here who are active posters have never been taken into consideration for moderator positions...or just asked if they wanted the job! Houdini is one of the most helpful and knowledgable veterans on this forum IMO. Maybe the Moderator selection process needs to be explained in full detail to those of us who are confused by the influx of moderators with less forum time under thier belts.

Then I will say it once more.
These are people who volunteered for the position when we had asked for volunteers. Obviously we aren't going to push the position on people who don't want to do the job. If I remember correctly, there was even a post asking for volunteers in the Veteran's forum about it.
There is no hidden agenda, or attempts to exclude anyone. Obviously we wanted people who were actually interested in filling the position.

Honestly.... I don't know why anybody would want the Mod job. My hat's off to those who do it, because I know what a PITA it is.
