I don't have any problems with my V2, so the V3 improvements are mostly cosmetic and not really earthshaking. Has anything been done to improve the flavour of the vape?

My V2 produces lots of vapour but I can barely taste the flavouring of the liquid. I bought an M201 as a backup for when the V2 is undergoing maintenance, but the flavour is so good on the M201, my V2 has become the back up unit.

Try to wash and clean your atomizers ?

If a warranty issue comes up with a version 2, will it end up being replaced with a version 3, or will you be keeping version 2 units around?

I dont know, to be honest - you will have to ask a shopkeeper about that! =) I do imagine that we will run out of v2 models as these wont be produced anymore, so once theyre out, sounds like it will be a v3.

The Stick is under-flavoured even with a new atomiser. I tried your method of cleaning but the atomiser died during the 'burn to dry' part of the process. Water is supposed to be neutral but I find that an atomiser washed in water, tastes bad afterwards. For now, I regularly blow them out and use a paper towel to wipe/soak out as much as possible, seems to work ok, they last longer and keep their flavour.

Actually its not the stick, its the atomizers themselves. 801 atomizers have less taste than say that of a 510 / DURA atomizer.

However, the burn dry process needs to be done correctly - the right way to do it as per our manual is to rinse under water, blowout, use a hairdrier until its dry, then insert, put in 4 drops of liquid, - try to vape - if its bad, add one drop, etc.

Depending on what atomizers and what liquids you use, that could also be the problem - there is a great variance on atomizers.

In essence: Its not the JS making you not taste the liquid, its your liquid and/or atomizer.

If you are looking for more taste, and you do not want to buy a new PV, you could consider buying the 510/DURA adapter for the JS, - they work really good and the taste is very warm and rich.

Just an idea! ;)

It's not that I don't want to buy another PV, buying the Stick in the first place was an act of financial/medical desparation as I'm a pensioner with emphysema and had to do something drastic to quit smoking, whether I could afford it or not. Nevertheless, I shall investigate the Dura adapter.

My atomisers are Twisp originals (South African importers of Janty). I see the cleaning method I followed has disappeared from you website, the one that said press the button until cutoff a few times. (?)

The cleaning method has not been removed, its just an old article and has been archived. Ill try to make it available again.

My method was using the cutoff point, while blowing into the atomizer, but the method mentioned in the manual, is the same, just using a hairdrier instead.

on a side note, our new eGo has a fantastic warm taste - its my favorite PV of all times ( and not just cause i designed it ) but the reports from other users, seem to also indicate that they too love the warm rich taste of the liquids. So this could also be an option for you to buy - and the battery life on this is far better than the JS!

agreed mik, i was a bit wooried at first about the heat of the atomizer, but i have the cap almost all the time on, a bit loosened to increase airflow a bit. its nice to adjust to the personal taste this way. some other devices are already getting a bit jealous.

Hehe, they need to get used to it. Thats what i tell my other devices. ;)

On a side, side note: Doubt I'll ever own an eGo, doesn't fit into my pension, but thanks for the teaser.

You can get a 510 adapter for the JS, so this is already possible.

Mik, are there any instructions online about how to install the adapter? I don't have a JS, but it seems that you almost need to open the JS enclosure to install the adapter. Are there any special tools/skills required?

Thanks.

Hey

The adapter is quite easy to install - it has the shape of a 801 atomizer, so you just screw it in, and once its in, you can screw a DURA/510 atomizer into that.

Okay, thank you for the info. I'll give it a try.

For some reason I never liked the 801 atomizers but if I understand correctly, the stick actually comes with 302 atomizer, so perhaps I'll like 302 better. What is the difference between 801 and 302 attys? And how does the 302 compare to 510?

I am getting the stick mainly to travel with. The size and shape should make it much easier to get through airport security than one of my "tube" shaped PVs. At least the pictures I've seen make the closed stick look just like a small electronic gizmo.

BTW, the device you prototyped not too long ago that so many people (including myself) didn't care for that included MP3 player is now making much better sense. That would make it through security without any trouble. It would be the perfect travel device for frequent flyers. Any chance of reviving it?

The difference is in the height of the bridge on the atomizer i believe.

as for security, i wouldnt know - however the eGo is so small it can hardly appear dangerous, where as i could see something like the GG appearing .. well, not un-harmful to the unknowing eye.

;)
