I am confused about the USB Pass Through .. Is that like the JantyStick ?? I thought that the pass through was NOT going to be on the eGo. I am happy if it is .. actually I ordered one already ..

There is no passthrough option on the eGo, the eGo is born with 600 mAH, and comes with two batteries, which should be more than enough to last you through a day no matter how hard you vape!

It does have USB charging though, but in order to do this you have to remove the atomizer on the battery.

;)

Hoping to see if others had a "radical" approach.

>

I'm glad you were able to grasp my rather odd description of a pizza protector analogy. I thought for sure I would have gotten flamed for that. LOL

Radical, as in a whole new switch? I gave that some thought but soon gave up on the idea. The beauty of the JS is the sleekness of it and the design uses every bit of space inside. Somebody way more clever than I would have to give input on that.

I think the only approach with the JS is to try to keep it from leaking at the atty connection by using other than 4072 attys, dse801s. The Joye 302s and BE112s leak the least for me -- but they all leak somewhat.

And, I think it's especially important to keep the liquid off your fingers and off the JS. I don't see this mentioned anywhere but I think it's real important because of the adhesive/tape thing. Even that little bit of residue that is ever-present on the e-liquid bottle cap finds its way to the JS via one's finger tips.

The JS is a high-maintenance device, IMHO. But it does serve a purpose for me -- when I need stealth and on a long drive with the PT. I have moved on from it as an everyday device though.

The pizza 'thingy' was 100% spot on!!! I get them locally that way all the time.

I was thinking of an alternate switch approach - I'd give up a bit of the beauty to get better life out of the switch. The JS with its batt/vape/passthru is SO hard to beat for me as I work on the PC 24/7 and the size is unbeatable!!!

I'm thinking I might try a knock-off mod using composite or wood with a 14500 batt. I could add some space for a tact switch. Have to find a small usb passthru/recharge circuit and a few weekends of spare time.....

That's what I knew and believed when ordering .. but someone posted something that confused me .. Actually they just called the charger a pass through and it confused me .. doesn't take much obviously.

Looking so forward to the eGo .. I have 3 sticks:

1 for my house
1 for my purse
1 in my car for "Where did I put my JantyStick?" emergencies ..

I NEED TO CLARIFY!

This problem I had is NOT Janty's fault....it's MINE!

Janty sent me out a brand new Janty Stick and so I won't bore you with all the details I found out that I had an atty problem, not a Janty Stick problem....my only excuse for being so stupid is I'd never lost an atty, never wore one out, never had one die. So when it happened I was totally stumped.

To make a short story longer, I sent back the new stick and am back to enjoying the original one with a new atty. I REALLY appreciate Janty's willingness to take the responsibility for my mistake. This speaks volumes for the Good Will on Janty's part, so I thank Janty for that!

Ludo and Mik - Thank you for all your very helpful assistance!

Pardon me, but if you use a 901 or 510 atty, wouldn't the leaking ends up in the adapter rather than the actual JS atty connector?

The implication is NOT that there is an inherent flaw in the 801 JS connector and therefore leaks which is what I think you're implying from your question.

Atomizers leak. End of story. Some worse than others, but they all leak. We're not talking about machined cylinder heads mated to a machined engine block with gasket material between them for a perfect seal. We're using a threaded atty from company X and screwing it onto a connector from company Y. The thread and pitch should be correct but these *ain't* exactly Swiss time pieces we're talking about here. You *will* experience taking a brand new atty out of a package, screw it on your device and see that it's crooked. There is almost no QC coming out of China.

If you have a leak at the atty connection in non-enclosed device, it's apparent immediately. Logically, with the enclosed JS it's not nearly as obvious, in my experience, anyway.

Btw, I never used an adapter for anything other than the native 801 on either of my JS. But, I cant see how adding *another* threaded part to the equation would result in *less* leakage. Non sequitur.
