Nice selection.
Personally i dont like Georg Jensen, i think its too obvious - some of it, yes is very very beautiful, but they are beginning to crank out more and more stuff that just looks "organic shaped, silver coated, and produced" without any special thought behind it!
But thats just me =D
The only Jensen I like is the vintage Jensen. Each year I see Jensen reproduces a pendant with stone from 100 years ago .. UGH .. I wish they didn't do that.
There is something GREAT about the silver from Denmark [Norway also] .. It is so silky smooth .. You don't feel it in 99.99999% of U.S. made jewelry. Once in a blue moon I see it / feel it in the finer jewelry out of Mexico. I don't know enough to say, but it must either be something in that .75 that they refine it with or the time they spend finishing the jewelry that makes it so silky. Unless you have felt it, you wouldn't understand .. I have tried to describe it to a friend .. IMPOSSIBLE. They think I mean that nickel plated junk .. or is it rhodium maybe ?? I forget. but HORRIBLE ..
Our business is buying and selling gold. 99% probably goes to the refinery and I do my best to grab the vintage silver out of the melt .. I stay away from the gold. I pulled out a Anton Michelsen necklace and bracelet a year ago I think .. I wore it for a while and then sold the set on eBay for $2,000.
I actually was going to keep the bracelet and listed the necklace for $1,500. I mentioned the bracelet to the buyer and she offered $500 .. I think the both together cost me just over $100 ... NICE .. Can't do that every day .. Mostly I see flea market jewelry, Tiffany [hate it] Fake Tiffany and lots of stuff from Thailand .. That is getting pretty nice but they are plating it ..
OK ...back to ummmm ... I forget .. OH YEAH .. the eGo.
Diane
PS .. I tried to find a picture of my Anton Michelsen but I guess I didn't save it. Thought I did. BTW .. I have personally about 30 lbs of silver jewelry .. you might think I am crazy, but I also own 3 JantySticks. Go figure.
