i consider this a fallout benefit. these threads always seem to bring out the cheerleaders and expose the fanboys. good to know for future reference if your getting an honest unbiased opinion.

Like the mob formed against steve the past two weeks until he was restocked and started answering emails again? Now everyone is back on his side? I may be in your opinion a "blind cheerleader" but I am just speaking from my experience. Like I said before walrus, I have not had to contact him within the past month or two since all of this happened.. I waited for his site to come back online then contacted him and he was right on it.. I asked you what happened to you but you have not answered. I am not going to go searching for your story on another thread. I am only speaking from my times dealing with Jeff. How does that make ME blind? I have nothing to do with your personal situation. I have had a good experience and you have not. Has nothing to do with either of us.

Because I have some positive things to say about Janty and I'm not willing to burn someone at the stake, does that mean I'm a "fanboy," too?
Thanks Julie. I forgot to mention in CandyGirls post... How is saying I have only had good experiences being biased?? Should I ask Jeff not to answer my emails, and be a jerk so that I can see both sides of this?? I order from 3 different suppliers. I have posted on all three threads on all 3 suppliers threads stating my good experiences. How does that make me biased towards Jeff?

But there are some of us who feel that while Janty has made some mistakes and has had some "issues," they're trying to dig themselves out of a hole and should be given the opportunity to do so in light of past excellent customer service. (I would fall into this category.)
And, of course, there's yet another group of folks out there who haven't had any issues at all. You apparently fall into this group.
But however you look at it, the community benefits from hearing ALL sides, good and bad. To ignore the good comments presents just as skewed a view as ignoring the bad.

It isn't when people post about good experiences, it's when someone posts about a bad experience, and someone else feels obligated to say how great theirs was. Especially when for recent history, dozens of people have similar bad experiences... jumping in with a "they are so great" seems a little less than sincere.

I hate to think that somehow we might create an environment where, God forbid, someone might feel obligated NOT to say something nice just because he/she might get accused of being a "fanboy."
It is not like I am posting on a thread that was filled with negative posts. I started this thread because the site was back up and I finally got my replacement parts on the way. I could see if I posted in a Janty negative thread.. Which now it is becoming.

But this forum isn't really about discussions between two people. It's a community where GROUPS of people communicate. And the community as a whole benefits from hearing the good and the bad.
If I'm trying to decide whether to do business with a particular supplier, I don't want to just hear from the people who've had positive experiences, and I don't want to hear only from those who've had negative experiences. I want to hear it all so that *I* can make up my own mind.

Again, negatives are and griping are fine. This is a forum. But why not start a negative janty thread in the janty section of this forum? Why are there no other threads at this moment? Why not express yourself there? I don't care about his problem. I can do nothing about it.. Start a thread about it.
I was not trying to kiss walrus' boo boo or poke the bear. I just started a simple thread because there were none, stating that the site was back up. I stated that I had good service not knowing it would offend the thousands that have had bad experiences.. I will edit my posts so that it will make some feel better.. Give me a minute!

i wasn't talking about a group of people... cal just happen to be playing the part of the fanboy... and tho i don't believe it was his intention.. everytime walrus would point out that it didn't work for him.. cal repeated how good it was for him..
believe me.. if it had been even 5 different people debating.. i would have just snickered... and kept quiet with my popcorn...
i was trying to clarify walrus was dissatisfied and really didn't want to hear that he was wrong in feeling that way
oh.. and Cal.. just to point out... this IS the janty section of the forum...
