Hope so. I've contacted Augvape and asked. Will report back if they reply.
Well not anodized as that is for aluminum only, it's most likely a coating similar to what's used on firearms and such.
Example: Cerakote

Fantastic review! Loved that u wick with Rayon, good reference for me!
Gotta love rayon :) it's awesome stuff.

Had my tank leak yesterday after a slightly rushed job - word to the wise, don't trim the wick too short.

Well it's a done deal for me too. My daughter is ordering it for me for Father's Day. I just spent a fortune on a coil master 521, along with some wire and cotton. Oh, and a set of small screwdrivers because I can't find the set I swear I had (ordered of Amazon for like $4, 2 day shipping with Amazon Prime, feels like FT, but with 2 day delivery.). Let the coiling begin!

I had some gurgling once with one of mine because of trying shorter wick ends leaving the holes exposed. I use 100% PG liquids trying that never should have been a thought...

My tank dumped, after my first wicking attempt. Thought I had enough cotton, down INTO the juice well, but since I had read many recommending to leave the juice hole "uncovered", I pushed the cotton in, from outside the hole, as a final step.

Yesterday, I switched to Rayon, basically did the same thing, EXCEPT this time I left the rayon wicking sit against the juice hole. It's been 24 hours, no leaks. Now I'm testing by laying the mod down sideways, no leaks yet. For extreme testing, I left the JFC wide open as well.

This is with 80vg/20pg juice. If you get leaks, or tank dumps with cotton or rayon when leaving the juice holes UNCOVERED, try letting your wick lay against those holes. So far working for me.

I've always had my cotton covering those 2 holes and never had a problem. I was just curious and tried leaving the holes open and it caused the gurgling. If I left it that way i'm sure it would have leaked. I have to say that when using 100% PG (thin liquids), the holes have to be covered 100%

Agreed, I only tried it as it seems many, including YouTube reviewers are recommendeding leaving the holes unobstructed. Didn't work for me with 80 VG. I'm not a chain vapor, but so far with my juice control left with both ports wide open, I get plenty of juice flowing. In fact if I ever see leaking again, I'm going to close the JFC down, and close those holes by 50%, but since is a new tank to me, I wanted to start with the JFC in the wide open position. As you are aware, Augvape supposedly has made the JFC holes even larger on an updated version. Personally I don't know why, with the Notch coil at .23 ohms, I get enough vapor to choke a horse and it keeps up on the juice flow.

I've seen that too in the videos about them leaving the holes unobstructed. My first builds on both mine were done with them totally covered and it worked great. I'm still experimenting with different size coils and thickness of wicking material until I see what will work best. Just about everything I put in these is working great except the leaving the juice holes open.

Has anyone figured out how to remove the air control ring yet? I want to get mine off but don't want it damaged.

I'm in the same boat. One of my negatives on this tank, is ANY device with replaceable o-rings, MUST allow the user access to them, for checking, cleaning, and replacement. I can do this on less expensive tanks. If you can't do this simple task, when that oring fails, you have a useless brick.

Been staring at mine off and on for a few days now contemplating the best plan of attack. Oddly, I feel that there probably ISN'T any user serviceable oring in there.

Posting this may just make me take a screwdriver to it though.

I'd hate to kill it as it isn't really broken.

There has to be an o-ring or 2 under that ring...
