This may seem like an odd question to very heavy smokers/vapers..

I started with 18mg on 11/07, recently down-graded to 11mg on 12/03. Here's the "...." of it: even 11mg is causing flushes.

In the transition, would it be be better to down-grade to 8mg or 4mg? Perhaps 0mg?

In the morning I _need_ the 18mg. By mid-morning/afternoon that is too much and I now switch to 11mg. By mid-afternoon/evening that is too much and I'm not sure what to transition to. Especially for evening/night-time.

Has anyone used various different mg throughout the day? Any suggestions? Thanks =}.

Thank you =}. I've only been smoking since 1975, primarily pipes & cigars, until 1986 when I picked up cigarettes (full flavour, 1.2 mg, 15-20 per day).

The nic flushes are quite annoying when combined with hormonal flushes. I know nic can/will/does exaggerate them.

I'm just talking out loud and am curious if down-grading to 8mg or 4mg would be beneficial. 0mg is an option too, for the times when I _want_ to "smoke" and don't really need the nic.

ECF is a boon for anyone wanting info on transitioning. Thank you to EVERYONE here for helping new "vapers" :)

By all means get yourself some 8mg and some 0mg and experiment with what works best for you. Many people do use different mg's at different times of day. Some use different mg's on different days depending on how things are going.

I started at 20 mg. A month later spend part of the day at 18-20mg and other parts of the day at 12mg. Weeks later I was able to spend some part of my day at 12mg while other times of my day at 6-8mg with only a rare need for 18mg. Jumping to the present I'm using 6mg mostly in the morning and afternoon and switching at about 5pm to 0 nic for the evening.

We're all a bit different so do what works for you. If you find you're fine at the lower levels remember that its still ok to use a higher mg once in a while if you feel that you need it. As jj2 says, you are relatively new at vaping and are still going through ridding yourself of all those nasty additives in analogs so don't be surprised if you're not ready to level out really low yet all the time but nothing wrong with checking it out and finding out for yourself what you're needs are. Good Luck!

GrandMaTo5, thank you very much =}. This is all very new, especially with being able to adjust the nic levels. Very nice! not something one could do with trads.

Guess I'll place an order for 8mg, 4mg, and 0mg cartos in a variety of flavours. Another plus for vaping... One isn't locked into one flavour. I have found I rotate through the eight (8) different flavours throughout the day I have now (in various strength mg).

Perhaps I shall order a few 18mg, too. Who knows when the "Ine" monster will rear its head demanding more =}.

I'm kind of the same as Grandma. I started at 18mg and still had cravings, so I got some 24mg. Now I vape both, but I'm starting to level out at 18mg more and more. I use the 24mg to stave off any cravings and when I can't vape freely. 18mg is for when I can vape my head off. The wonderful thing about vaping is being able to experiment and find out what works for you. There are no rules saying you can only use one nic level at a time, or vape only one or two flavors with only one kind of set-up. Do what works for you, whatever that might be. :)

Asti, thank you for the info on Glycerine USP. I'm using cartos from "the mall" and V4L CoolCarts. Probably higher PG ratios.

Eventually, I may get into custom blending. I have a little experience from being a tobacconist and aromatherapist. Odd combo, to say the least, when coupled with a little experience with paper and ink.

Never expected to stop smoking, honest & for true. Only started using e-cigs/PVs because hubby bought me a 4081 and a 808 set-up. Both are IMNSHO fine intros to vaping =}.

WomanofHeart, Aye, it is all about experimenting =}. Very glad there are so many options available.

For someone new, it can become overwhelming! Between hardware, software, and wetware LOL, there are too many variables.

Thank you, EVERYONE, for personal experiences and suggestions. I am quite open to learning and sharing.
