Thanks for the spreadsheet Karen!

It's a huge help as I prepare to wrap my 1st micro coil (read 1st non-robcoil) with my new Artistic Coil Gizmo.

Micro coils & Duals here I come!

Ancient Puffer (Bill) keeps the spreadsheet updated!

I only started this thread, he made it easy to see the info and keeps it going!

Thank YOU Bill!

Spreadsheet updated HERE

Hey AP, did you update the sheet with the info from my post? If you did you need to update it being dual coil... Sorry, I didn't mention that in my post... But then again the pics did show duals!!! Either way it should probably be noted on the sheet...

Yes, I did, and have re-updated to indicate the dual coils, thanks for the correction :)

Can somebody tell me how many wraps I need for dual coils using a 16G needle and 28G Kanthal to get about 1.2 Ohms?

that's not gonna happen. Ballpark, 10 wraps of 28g will net you about that. For duals, you need each coil to be 2.4 Ω. My thinker tells me that's about 20 wraps per coil. Won't even fit in most atties; much less get warm (unless you've got a DNA 30 device or something).

Looks like I've got some things to learn. Is there a good thread here giving info on the difference between building single and dual coils and one that might tell the difference between building coils on a mechanical vs a regulated mod? :)

Ditch that 16ga and rustle through a tool box and pull out a 5/64th drill. 10 wraps each of 28ga will get you right at 1.0 Ω Top of my head says 12 each will put you a bit over 1.2 Ω

New to mech? Yeah don't attempt until you've read a few safety threads and looked at some charts.
