They're on in the same. I just took one pic with the flash and the other without.

After I posted the pics, I did some sanding and switched to a different blue....moar pics tomorrow night.

I murdered the painting of mine as well, tried a metallic paint that began to peel off, even though I applied coats of clear matte Krylon afterwards (or perhaps because of that).

I am in the final stages of applying a straight black after sanding it down.

I definitely should have done a primer coat in something that complements the color blue. I may do a layer of clear before the next layer of blue...hopefully, that restricts the absorption of metallic flake into the porous material.

hi guys.

i like the original color and the grainy feel but i failed to preserved it. i use flat black and a pearl clear coat. 6 layer flat black, 1 layer pearl clear coat. lightly sanded with sand paper, another 3 layer flat black, sanded it again. last layer of flat black and pearl clear coat. lastly i sanded it in running water. end up like this.

My re-paint with the newer, darker metallic paint isn't going so well. I may deliberately go with the faded denim look out of frustration.

Just in case you are interested, I found (the hard way) that a soak in pure acetone and a light scrub with a brush worked really well at stripping paint back down to bare nylon.
