As KTMRider pointed out, the buttons on my enclosures/sleds somehow grew the "fat" end by 1mm from the working prototype to final. If you have one, be prepared to sand the backside of the buttons down 1mm. All models have been corrected and all sites have stand alone correct buttons if you are in the mood to do it that way. Things that make you go "huh?".
Well after spending hours today making a sled to hold the board and laying out the holes and openings on my Hammond box, having to sand a couple buttons sounds attractive.
I thought the screws I had were going to work but they won't, I'm sick of collecting and waiting for parts and want to get at least one done so I'm using KTM's trick of making a sled from CD case pieces I'm cutting and gluing. So far so good, I'll have to get some pics as I progress. Seems like I got an awful lot of time in today without a lot of progress to show for it, but more then half that time spent is because I can't help trying to make things as perfect as I can. I realize I'm becoming my Father, he use to drive me nuts making everything perfect when I just wanted to get a job done. Many years ago when I first bought this house I ripped all the drywall out of a room and decided to rewire it while at it, Dad came by to lend me a hand. I had all the studs drilled, most of the wire run and boxes mounted when I knew I was going to need more wire so I left for a run to the hardware store. When I got home I found Dad had pulled all the wires from the walls and was starting to re-run them making sure the wires ran perfectly straight, nice rounded bends and absolutely flat! He undid hours of my work, I asked why and he said he thought it would just look better, I said
"But Dad, sheet rock will go over it and you'll never see it!' And he hit me back with the old
If your going to do a job......
I am my Father's boy, God I miss him so much.
