I have to asked a dumb question. Non resistance wire must have resistance to heat up or what am I missing here. I missed all the fun and started vaping when that was going out of style.

Basically there is no such thing as non resistance wire. Nickel NI200 is used because it has a very constant ohm increase as it heats. So you start with a reading of the ohms at room temp and as it heats the ohms rise, this measured ohm rise is then controlled to maintain a peak F temp.

Ok I understand. I wondered about that occasionally and never looked or asked.

Thanks

32g nickel coil at .19 ohms on a genny with Ao wick and hemp booster.

Now theres a blast from the past!

I still have a few of those laying around.... Might have to try it again... And the .3 ohm dual coil kraken will have to be rebuilt... Dry hits on that thing were murder!

... But after seeing that... SS rope 40W temp controlled with a genny tilt... Could the coil keep up with the flow of liquid? And if it did could you imagine the pure taste(ive never gotten a taste from ss) coming off of it... Hmmm... I havent tinkered in a long time... Looks like im going to be having several long nights ahead of me... :D

Yeah im a flavor junky... I like the idea of being able to reduce W while at work to reduce vapor and still maintain flavor... For me personally temp control is my perfect storm...

@ Sniffle. most beta testers did not have much luck with SS mesh or rope. Like putting a lawnmower engine in a Ferrari. Using very low resistance wire on a SS wick is also complicated by easy shorting. SS kinda defeats the purpose of this new technology. But go for it, you may find a setup that works for you. IMO I want very wet coils that keep my watts high during my long draws. With hemp or cotton my mean watts to hold temp is around 10 to 12 watts and jumps to 26 watts while I draw. When I tried SS wick the mean would almost immediately go to 3 to 4 watts and drop even more during the draw as the wick dries out very fast as it vaporizes the juice. With this board any drying of the coil that increases temp will immediately result in a watt drop and less vapor. :)

In order of preference on the DNA40. IMO

Drippers a 10
Taifun a 9
Kayfun or Russian with horizontal wick a 6
Kayfun or Russian with vertical wick a 5
Genies a 2

As to wire I have tested 26 to 34g NI200

My preference is 34g double twisted 3 to 4mm dia coil at .1 to .2 ohms.:)
This double twist thanks to Mamu

We shall see... Might go the route of a cotton diaper around the ss rope... I dunno just a thought...

yup! and we were lucky drunk got away from the hot sauce background!

For the record, beer was my first background (of course), hot sauce was just a brief switch up and now back to my first love background. But I may switch off again soon for a delve into my wine rack for backgrounds.

The BDSM Hot Sauce was a classic though!
