I disassembled my mod and took an image of the missing step in my assembly images:

The tape? I taped my screen and inserted a wee piece of foam between the screen and the board

I too was thinking about modifying your squonker into a vtr style mod (because of your awesome modular design) by:

• Making entire mod taller to accommodate the turnigy 1500mah battery https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=64938.
• Making mod height taller would also allow for the mod to be a dual purpose DNA200/DNA40 design by incorporating a DNA40 control panel mount in a shortened squonk cover below the 510 well allowing for:
  • Your original DNA200 squonk design to be used with 1500mah battery.
  • A DNA200 VTR configuration to be used instead of squonker, incorporating 42mm drop well 510 in the squonk area with a 10mm tall top ring.
  • DNA200 control panel to be replaced with a blank cover and a DNA40 control panel to be incorporated below 510 drop well in a modified squonk cover panel.
  • Another possibility is to install a DNA40 upside down in your DNA200 control panel to allow the display OLED window to be installed on top of the mod in a flask type manner.

That modular design of yours lends itself to so many configuration possibilities and I really have to give you credit for a great design!

So one the one side you want a snap panel that would hold an atomizer and a bottle and one that would be lower and support an atomizer? The modder would have to wire it one way or the other right? It is not a mid stream change or are you figuring in bullet connectors for the atomizer leads?

The only hurdle to that is the snap portion will get funky to design if it also has to have the atomizer as you loose the flex that will (should...not tested it beyond PLA printing) allow it to come on and off. A side by side mod style could be easy with a drop on that side, but I would put the atomizer support as part of the center.

If Squonk_Me reports that it is not a pile of you know what, then I will draw up a side by side if that interests you.

Already read that but the ways to become verified don't work out for me.

Make it work. PM a mod to see if there's another way. It's worth it. You should do it now before you actually need it so you'll be ready for the next co-op

I did the same. I used some closed cell foam and wrapped it with electrical tape with the sticky side out so it won't move.

I can tell the ribbon isn't in the way of the fire button anymore because it isn't leaning upwards now.

Battery life is really good with the 1300mah 3S lipo. I'm easily getting 1.5 days of heavy vaping. 2+ days of moderate vaping. This is with a .11Ω Ni200 coil, 440°F, 20w.

Your dipping looks like it turned out well. How did you come up with the formula of 1:1:1 nail polish, cyanoacrylate glue and acetone? Any particular type of nail polish (enamel, lacquer, etc). It looks like a good way to seal and get color onto a print. Sort of a home made, no bake ceracote. I fave an ugly gdna that needs stripping and recoating. My spray paint job just hasn't held up.

If you find a less expensive option for the screen, let me know. I started a build for a DNA40 this weekend with a chip/screen that I purchased off of eBay in a moment of weakness in between one of Mike's Co-Ops a few months back. Unfortunately, the screen doesn't work. I went ahead and swapped it out for a known good screen from another mod to test the board and to confirm it was just the screen. Given the way it was packaged when shipped to me, I should have suspected immediately that something was amiss.

Pulled it out of thin air...with some research. You want any nail police that has an acetone carrier. I went to the local liquidation store and opened them and smelled them. I probably used more acetone than stated as I just eyeballed it. It is durable.

Just remember to sand off some of the snap bumps on the top and bottom as there will be no flex in the body at those points.
