Yes, I know, I have one more 200 to build. I'm considering the Mamu unit that involves hammond box and faceplate. I've never done a hammond box before, and I really like the look of her finish. I've got a number of dna40's in production; GDNA units.
Seriously though, doesn't polyurethane sealant have a heavy smell to it?

I have 2 DNA200's and a DNA40. I'm not a fan of the Hammond boxes. Then again, I wasn't really a fan of printed boxes either. I'm leaving my printed boxes as is. I kinda like the texture.
Any finish containing volatiles, acetone, lacquer thinner, enamel bases, has an odor to it. Good ventilation is a must with any of them. Automotive clearcoats really need a fresh air breathing system or, at the very least, a quality breathing filter capable, and rated for, removing those volatiles.

It does in my experience. I used it on my printed DNA40 designs and I've decided to skip it for my DNA200 prints.
Yeah, I've worked with a few. I'm currently using an acrylic sealant, and the smell dissipates fairly rapidly and thoroughly. I like the idea of the outcome with the polyurethane, it's just when I've used it in the past, with wood, the smell has staying power; but it looks like it creates a very good finish on these printed units.
I'm liking that print! Decisions, decisions... I thought is was the boxer, similar, but maybe better.

Exactly, as the paint or finish dries those solvents evaporate and once they are gone the smell is gone. But in some cases it can take a long time for those solvents to completely evaporate, depends on what your using. I used a new to me "environmentally friendly" enamel paint made from soybean oil when I painted my boat trailer early this summer, I could smell it every time I walked in the shop for two weeks after. Terrible stuff to work with, you couldn't re-coat, you had to spray one coat, wait 24 hours, sand and spray the next coat, I'll never us that stuff again. I will say, it had high solids and did coat very well and it was cheap but it was a PITA to work with.

I was considering that enclosure. When I read the post on Evolv's site about using the 2 18650 and the semi complex wiring I was put off
The guy said 70 x 35 x 20mm. I'm hoping there's enough room for my 1000mah battery (73 x 35 x 19mm). He's also offering an extended door for thicker batteries.
I like the design, but the walls look thin to me. It looks like 2mm to me...let us know the wall thickness when you receive it.

HHMmmm, think I might get me some and give it a try. It takes about 20-30 coats of the acrylic to get a good solid finish.What brand are You using?

Tired of the black burnt Wick? I'm keeping my SX350j. I would really like a single 18650 3D printed enclosure for it. No luck finding a nice one Yet
I'm going to remove it from taking to work detail and bring my BRD 1300 to work instead

I used Deft gloss spray poly. I wasn't impressed with the flow and finish. Maybe I'll try the Minwax.
