My Faux Beta Box :) I put it beside a few mods for size comparison An original Hanna Box and a Gdna :)
It's real small :) I hope the battery life will be good too, at least a little better than a good 18650
will be nice :)

Ah..... you son of a gun! You have no idea how jealous I am! :(

Anything else you can expend on that with????

ETA: Saw where it bombed during the firmware upload, just curious, were you using a Mac work-around? Just did mine and it went flawlessly.

Yea...there were more moving parts in my update. I was running windows 10 in a virtual box and during the upload it just died. Based on past experience flashing routers and the like I would say it was a random bad write. Going to swap it out.

Finally!! BRD with 1000mah Turnigy. Next time I would solder battery to board. Those XTC30 connectors made it difficult. They don't wanna fit widthwise. The battery may be touching the 510 nut too, so smaller all around might be good. Taped the screen to the board first! Fiddled with it a bit and got a good fir that stuck and just dropped her into place. Camera didn't capture the bright orangeish/yellow of the Kapton tape screen cover. Time to hook up to Escribe.....

My 200 bricked during the install of the 8/21 firmware...just passing that along in case it has an issue. It could be a random issue though. I had just taken it apart, cleaned it and put on a fresh, hard spring 510 and it was vaping perfect. So perfect in fact that I decided to upload the latest firmware so I could drop the lock clicks from five to three. Boom.

Did you try forcing a firmware update with Tools / Update Firmware?
I have heard that even if Escribe doesn't recognize the device this can still work.

I am betting he did, he practically owns the Early Adopter forums........

Noticed the screen was a little off I tried to straighten it. It's a bit better now
Still not perfect but it will do :)

That looks good. Me and the wife are at standstill in our gift giving. I have run out of things to want for Christmas. I am thinking a 3d printer. I do NOT want to build one. I mess with automation all day errday. Unlike Mike I do not want to come home and do it for fun :)

Anyone know of a good 3d printer for around 1K? something dual head that can do all the fun stuffs?

That sucks. Did you try re-flashing? I just updated both of my DNA200's and no issues for me.

I'm not sure home printers are good enough to print enclosures though. I had the evolv beta box printed locally and it didn't turn out too good. The guy tried re-printing it and it wasn't much better. $1000 of printing from Sculpteo would be a better choice, IMO.

I have a print from Shapeways coming in a day or so. I'll post pics.

Well, I finally got my BRD 200 up and running! My other battery had a bad cell, new battery and it's on :) The only thing that concerns me is it's charging slow. usb current is .206, is that normal? I wish I could put up a pic of my escribe monitor screen. Everything looks good to me, except the charging rate. On the screen the batt icon is at about 1/2. It's going up, just very slowly, hmmm.

Funny funny...but yes....I tried it in XP, win7 and 10. The chip is recognized partially by the OS, but the name is blown so it looks like it took a jolt.

Sounds like the same thing that happened to my hana v200. If you get it running again, love a report as to how it was done.

Mornin Steamer! Well my unit is fully charged and vaping up a storm :) I'm having a notification on the bottom of the screen on escribe for an update, but it's nonresponsive; do you have this?

I just tried 64 watts, man that's hot, back down to 27. I'm thinking of some beefy coils to try some high temps:evil:

Ok...it is alive...sort of.

The chip died during an install of the latest firmware (the host was windows 8.1 running in a virtualbox on my mac...a setup that had been used to update firmware before). After the failed firmware install attempt the system would only see a usb device titled AOSWKLLNXNSV with the vendor and device ID of the DNA200. No virtual box I had (XP, 7, 8.1 or 10) would manually update the firmware of the chip with the AOSWKLLNXNSV identifier.

I dusted off an old laptop running XP and put on escribe. Escribe on the XP saw the chip and allowed a manual firmware update. Sadly whatever went wrong either took the pack with it or fried the charging portion of the board as it can not read battery voltage from the chip other than 0.00, 2.05, 3.70. Until I get a multimeter, I can't tell if it is the pack or the chip.

Since I have updated the firmware via a virtualbox running 8.1 as a test and it worked...so I really can't say what went wrong....yet :)

Bummer. I have windows 10 now, and escribe reports a new update available, but it creates an error when I try to upload it, then just locks up, and I have to reboot the computer. I just got my mod running, so I'm going to stay away from escribe for a while, I believe they've got some sorting out to do.
