I found out a few months ago that my sister started smoking again (she was a casual smoker when we were younger) so I wanted to set her up with some vape gear. I gave her a cloupor mini and a KFL lite with some supplies and links on youtube to rebuild it. She dropped it and the 510 got flaky so I built a Cloupor Hana clone with a DNA40 that I had laying around. It's been a while since I built one of these but I gotta say, this is one of the best builds I made. The VT 510 is perfectly centered and straight. I used C&K buttons and an Evolv 1a charging board.

Good job. I'm seriously behind on building sh'tuff. I've got a couple dna200 waiting, several hana type enclosures and dna40's waiting, wanted to upgrade my wizard evolved to a dna40. I've gotten to spoiled to my dna200 Vaporflask and the 3d printed box I've already got, all these parts lay in wait for lazy me. :(

Thanks! That was the last DNA40 chip from a previous co-op. I already had 7 or 8 DNA40's at the time so building another one wasn't very high on my to-do list. Then the DNA200 came out and I got wrapped up in those. Currently, I have 4 DNA40's and 5 DNA200's with 1 DNA200 that's got a flaky screen so it's not really used and I'm not motivated enough to fix it. I probably should.

I still love my DNA40's because they're smaller and easier to carry.

Yep. I never did anything with the DNA200 boards I bought early on 'cause I don't see it being feasible to make a squonk mod that's reasonably compact and has decent ergos using them. I really wish Evolv would make a DNA50 in form factor resembling the classic 20-40, that runs on a single cell, but give it software capabilities like the 200.

I'v all but retired my DNA40's including my 4 GDNA's :(
I have 1 left still being used. I only use it with a MTL atty first thing in the morning :)
The DNA200 is so much better! I have mine set for 150 watt pre heat for the first 3 seconds, instant Hit!
The 200's ,Escribe & lipo batteries is such a big step up, I could never go back to a plain DNA40 :(
One thing I keep hearing is the DNA200 can't make a good BF'er cause of size. I strongly disagree with that. The ERM could easily be made into a BF'er and be not too much bigger than an GDNA 40.
It would take some one like G to do it. IDK why he doesn't ?
You can plainly see the difference in size from the pics, It's Doable!

Sitting down, facing forward.
I love my DNA200's, both the ERM+ and the 1590G, but I also love my low tank DNA40. Being able to just pop in a fresh battery and go is great and I keep the build so that 30 watts is plenty of power. Now, if I ever get that brass, low tank, DNA200 done I may feel differently :)

Still getting good use from my DNA40s using an Aromanizer with horizontal Ti coils, 26 AWG, 2 mm ID, 9 wraps just using the top connections holes and coil spaced wide so there no legs to get hot.

ETA just set the temp about 90 F lower then with Ni200 for Ti as most of you already know ;)

I'm strictly MTl and intend to stay that way, hence I have zero interest in power levels that require 2s or 3s batteries. But yes, the capabilities that Escribe brings are rather intriguing.

IIRC, there's not much empty space in there. Increase the size enough to make room for a bottle in there and that mod is much bigger in both volume and circumference than a GDNA.

I get the impression he's been rather busy with his day job, and I gather it pays better than designing mods. ;)

In defence of my statement, There is not much room in the GDNA either. Every thing was squeezed in there quite nicely :)
The fully max battery is not that much bigger than an 18650 and delivers up to 25% more battery life.
I mentioned G because IMO it would take some one with his skill level to make the full max fit into a compact BF'er, I realize he has a job and is not just sitting around designing mods.
Just cause your a MTL vaper does not mean, you could not take advantage of all the new features and customizability of the DNA 200 chip
Given the battery becomes fixed instead of replaceable witch is a definite con, the usb charger is faster than charging an 18650 out of the mod.
A DNA 200 BF'er with a fully max 900 would be a different animal all together, But again IMO wouldn't have to be that much bigger. If properly designed by some one with a very high Skill level :)

I'm considering building my first mod since I've fallen in love with the DNA 200 chip. I've seen milled cases, batteries, 510's etc but is there one place where I could basically order everything I need to assemble? I'd rather not have to source wire from this vendor, 510 from that vendor, etc & worry about missing anything. Not sure if this is the proper thread or not but it sure looks like it!

You won't get a better deal than this $110 all in Evolv ERM style anodised case, limited colour choice Silo-950 DNA200 Build Kit Includes everything board, battery, 510, buttons & wire.

Yep, I've never seen that site before & that looks absolutely perfect for my first "build" How's the quality of the kit? They don't mention much including dimensions but I assume minor filing & fitting plus some soldering is all that's required?

They also have 1300mah kits now - suprise, suprise! Boy they brought them out quick! Almost like someone gave them the plans.

with the pound exchange rate at almost 1.5 to the dollar this is not cheap, especially since the uk is not known for economical overseas shipping :(
