So After some more time spent w/ this trident, it is driving me crazy... The way it's made, it sounds like a dog whistle every time I take a puff. It is rather annoying. I think I am going to have to re-tool all the air holes and bevel the edges to kill the whistling.

Switch drip tips. I've found that with the large holes I've drilled in my patriot and nimbus that certain drip tips cause them to whistle.

Nah. it isn't the tip. It's the adjustable airflow. two sharp edges mis-matching causes a nice whistle effect.

So I ruined my Trident... The center screw broke off where it is split so I have to figure out a way to make it usable again...

And my hand drill doesn't seem to have the power to drill through the Cyclones center post. This morning isn't going so well thus far. I'll have to try again later.

When drilling SS centerposts, one must needs go with very slow RPM. My drill press only goes down to 700rpm; but I make do. Also, starting with a brand new, sharp drill bit is a must. Cutting fluid (say, Rapid Tap) is ding-dang helpful too . . . .. it could make or break your project, so let's say it's a must. It's not a question of power, some folks do this by hand (i.e. spinning the drill bit by hand); more likely, it's a question of your drill bit going dull and/or "work hardening" the steel. As soon as one bit begins to lose effectiveness, one must stop and change bits. If not, you're just spinning the dull bit and work hardening your steel. If you're not cutting deeper, you're rubbing/heating/hardening.

Is the Trident centerpost mounted in the standard fashion? If so, you could swap for another centerpost. Many of them seem to be of the same shape and size (on the fitting end of the deal).

Yeah, I stole the post from an IGO-S to replace my failed Nimbus Clone attempt. The top is a different configuration; but it works just fine. Unless you were saying that your cordless stopped turning the bit, it should have enough power. On the sticker on the drill, it should list the min. and max. rpms. If the min is over 500, you're gonna have a hard time. (With the drill press, I can get away with slightly higher rpms because I can apply greater and more accurate/straight-on force with it. So my rpm/pressure ratio is different than pushing a drill by hand)

So I bought a new bit when I picked up some fuses at the auto parts store and still does not want to cut any further down the center post. It's not stopping it's just not driving any further. So maybe this bit doesn't have the cutting power.

For the center post of the Cyclone are people drilling the bottom 510 separately? Because maybe just going down the middle of the post is my issues.

^^That being said, I am thinking I may look for a stainless socket cap screw to slot and replace the brass one. I know it will increase my v-drop a bit, but I love the way this is working as a BF atty, though unsure of ill effects that could happen from long-term saturation of the brass in the juice i'm vaping.

Thoughts?

Could always contact vicious ant on facebook and see if they would just sell you a pos post from their BF version of the cyclone?

That cyclone is just gorgeous... The aesthetics of those lines... Ugh you guys are killing me!

I'd like that cap for the rm2 please :) lol

I wasn't even planning on getting a milled cup, because I'm still using disposable atties...

Grr... I'm going to be getting a second one at some point, aren't i? ( can't ruin my white finish lol)
