ITS HERE! I also got a few 1.5ohm atomizers from REO and a drip tip. Charged the AW 14500s up with a brand new Pila. After charging, verified voltage on both was 4.17, close enough.

Fit/finish of the Reo Mini is amazing, its more of a work of art to me! Only gripe is the battery door. I like the idea, but it just doesnt hold it good enough, so I added some tape, problem solve.

Filled the bottle with 100% VG Johnson Creek Domestic, blew the primer out of the new atomizer, primed it with some VG and went to town...

(interestingly, my JC VG juice is thinner than my JC PG juice..)

After puffing through the residual atomizer primer (yuck) I was vaping like a champ....then BAM!! Instant super hot dry hit (this is my first 1.5 atty). So I gave the bottle a slight press, and tried another puff. GURGLE GURGLE SPIT POP is what I got. Flooded.

I just need to get the hang of the bottle pressing, or squonking I think you guys call it:blush:

Leaving now to watch some more REO tutorials and refresh my memory.

So far, I LOVE this Mini, its me that needs to adjust!

Great news! :) So with these atomizers, until you find the "rhythm" that works for you, try counting vapes...like vape 4 or 5 times, then rejuice your atomizer. I HATE dry burny hits...almost as much as I HATE vomiting. I started counting my vapes to avoid that....after a day or so of doing that, it became second nature to me and I don't have that problem anymore. :) Keep us posted!

Congratulations! I rarely use my minis but like the rest of the REO family, they are a cut above their contemporaries. As Rhaps noted, you'll get into a rhythm fairly early on and will adjust naturally to it.

Tips!

1. Count your vapes and get used to the rhythm.
2. If you are a chain vapor try not to squonk on a hot coil. You can cool your coil by giving a quick sharp pull before you squonk again to cool it which works perfectly in my opinion.
3. If you don't mind a little tiny bit of modding, the zero o-ring mod (in my opinion) makes the pressure you need to apply to the bottle even less.
4. Enjoy!

With just a little reading on the other "new Reo owner" thread, I think this method is going to be pretty easy to nail down!

Thanks for the tips, Ill look into the o-ring mod, but I do plan on getting a VV Grand whenever they show up!

There is a post around here somewhere from mwa that describes how the door magnets interact with each other (it is recent, but I can't find it... maybe someone else noticed and can link to it?) . I thought it was a little nuts... until I realized he was right.

The door holds better over time. Mine seemed too loose at first too. Now, it doesn't seem loose at all. I was blaming that on crud building up in the dove tail (or giving credit to crud in the dove tail depending on how you look at it)... but then i remembered I cleaned my mini recently and there is no crud in the dove tail. The magnets improve and gain more affinity towards one another over time.

Just had something weird happen. Went to take a vape and nothing happened. First thought was that I killed the atty, checked battery voltage, was at 3.8. Checked for loose connections, everything was good. I removed the drip tip to inspect the atomizer, which looked fine. So I pressed the button and BOOM vapor was back...weird.

Sometimes it is easy to turn the button just enough so it locks when you try to vape. I have had that happen lots of times.

and if the atty wasn't screwed in enough, it could have had a connection problem. I've done that a time or two...showing off my mod to someone, remove the atty, then put it back on and then vape....:?::blink:..HONEY!!! MY MOD DOESN'T WORK! *pout* ....FIX IT :grr:  just needed to screw the atty on all the way.

Congrats on your new Mini! If you haven't already done so, insert the little reducer tube into the end of the feed tube (make sure it is flush with the end of the tube). That should help solve your flooding problem.

Thanks it probably was the switch turned a little bit...

I was wondering what that extra little tube was! Thanks!

So after a day of practice I still havent nailed it down. I got a few dry burnt hits from not being able to tell its about to run out...been trying to count my puffs, but its been inconsistent and I end up filling when I dont need to causing flooding.

One thing I overlooked about the REO was the little catch basin. What do you guys too to keep it from spilling out. Its been kind of annoying trying to keep it upright at all times.

If you are blind squonking you should not have any juice in the cup. I do realize you are in a warm climate. Really all you can do is try to vape till the atty is pretty dry before you put it down. I never get juice in the drip well. If you pay attention to vapor and taste you should be able to tell when the atty is getting dry.

If you can master the blind squonk there really shouldn't be any juice in the catch cup.

Good luck. :)

Edit* Karen beat me to it. :toast:

+1

The blind squonk is your friend. Just press lightly on the bottle while drawing on the atty or carto without firing the mod. Stop when you hear a gurgle or feel any resistance. Vape a few times, lather, rinse, repeat.

At this point, Im having some regrets....short story:

On the same day, I received BOTH the Reo Mini AND the new Volt X2 1300mah battery with their new Clearomizer.

Both VERY different designs when it comes to PVs. I wanted to give each device a fair shot before I decided which one will make the cut..

So far, I find myself picking up the Volt unit instead of the Reo. Im using the same juice in both. The Volt always give me an easy draw, great flavor, and great vapor. The only thing I dont like about it is the size, its about 7" long...

The Reo has been pretty much a hassle since I got it. Battery door falling off every time I reach in my pocket for it, VERY inconsistent vapes, and flooding, but even on the best vapes I get on the REO, it just doesnt taste as good as it does on the Volt.

I will admit I had some issues with the Volt stuff too, but those issues cleared up quickly.

Tried the blind method, but if I push too soft, I get some vapor/flavor, if I push too hard, its flooded and I get nothing.

It just sucks that my $36 Volt X2/Clearomizer is grabbing my attention more than my $130+ Reo Mini..

I dont know what to do with this thing...

Perhaps you are right...but you are being honest...no one can hold that against you. :) I certainly don't.

I went back and read the beginning of this thread and noticed you are using an atomizer on the REO and the cartomizer on your volt. Have you considered using a cartomizer on the REO? That may simplify things for you. Many REO owners have found the cartomizers to be a more hassle free vape.

*edit* The only reason I bring that up is that the mod itself doesn't really affect the flavor of the juice other than the difference in the power being used by the atomizer/cartomizer.
