I finally got some money back from my taxes this year and I am hoping to treat myself to a reo. I have been happily vaping with an eGo since I started vaping 4 months ago so this will be my first mod. I have done a bit of reading about them and I still can't decide between the mini and the grand. I like the mini because it is smaller, and 3 mL of juice would get me through the day, but what about the battery life? I would also be using it at work so being able to hide it in my hand would be nice. Then I figured the grand will be better for battery life, and a bonus to be able to stack 2 of the 3 volt batteries, but I am a bit uncomfortable with the size. I wish I knew someone who had both so I could see how both of them feel in my hand. Any advice, besides buying both!!

First... LOVE your avatar! :)

Second, with aw imr 14500's you'd most likely have to do a battery swap right before the end of the 3ml bottle was vaped. I own a woodvil, and I swap batteries about 3mils into the 6mil bottle because I prefer the 4- 4.2v vape. The grand is almost the size of a pack of smokes. The mini is easier to hide, if thats a requirement...

I have both, a Grand and a Mini. They are both Gold/Black. I do prefer the Mini for the size. 3ml is enough to get me through the day, and I can change flavors more often. I can squeeze the juice and hit the button without changing my hand position. As soon as I can get a pic of my Grand, I will probably be listing it on the classifieds.

TY! Hiding it is not a requirement, although I get enough dirty looks at work when customers see puffs of smoke around me that I don't really want anymore attention trying to explain what the heck that big device is in my hand! I think I am leaning towards the mini for this reason, just wish I could get a bit more battery life out of them or that I could vape at 6 volts (which isn't a huge deal, I just like to try everything once!). I hate to say it, but I will probably end up getting a grand also in the near future, even though I told myself my eGo was all I would ever need!

I am not familiar with the ordering system....is it possible to buy one of each if they are released at the same time?

If your fast enough at going through the checkout...yes.
Pre-register on the reomods.com site. Make sure your logged in on the night of the sale. Also, make sure your PayPal info is all correct. Also, make sure your home on delivery day, as they require signature confirmation from someone at the delivery address.

I don't have my mini YET! LOL, but I know that is the one I'm going to order. The 14500 battery is so small, carrying an extra shouldn't be a problem. I'm the type where even if I had a mod that used the 26650 battery, I would still carry an extra anyway! LOL.

They sell these awesome little boxes at various vendors, where you can stick and extra 3ml bottle and an extra batt.

Taken from CJLights post/thread above....

REO Measurements, Parts, & Terminology
The following dimensions are in inches, and the height includes the 1/4” juice reservoir (atty well) ...

Grand:
=====
Height: 3-3/4"
Width: 1-11/16"
Depth: 15/16"

Mini:
=====
Height: 3-1/8"
Width: 1-1/2"
Depth: 5/8"

Woodvil:
=====
2 1/16" wide
3 13/16" tall without reservoir
1 1/16" deep

Mini Woodvil:
=====
1 3/4" wide
3 1/16" tall without reservoir
7/8" deep

To get a good feel for their size, there are several photos available of REOs next to objects such as cigarette packs, cell phones, and such. Those photos are located in the REO Family Photos thread here: REO Family Photos

EDIT: The depth has been corrected for the Mini. The depth did read 3/8", and is now corrected to 5/8". Thank you mlinky. Good catch.

OH, yes these are great also! For a mini, you can put a battery, an extra bottle and an atty. :) and yes they are small.

The mini is tiny ... much smaller than most people think by the pics.

The Grand is really not big at all.

If you take the above dimensions of both and draw it out on some cardboard you can cut them out to get a feel for it.

I vote Grand all the way. The 18650 battery is much more capable for good vaping.
The 14500 in the mini has some limitations IMO.

Either way your going to end up with both sometime soon. Its inevitable don't fight it :)

I did see the measurements there but it was hard to really put it into perspective. I think I will do as you suggested and make a cardboard grand and a cardboard mini, lol.

And yes, as much as I hate to admit it, I can already feel myself turning into one of those people. For the first couple months, I told myself that I wouldn't turn into a collector. But its starting. I can't decide so maybe I should just get them both, wait, did I just say that?

Don't feel bad. When I started, I said I'd never own a "mod" or anything that didn't look exactly like a real cig. Now, after trying several hundred dollars worth of pv's.... Besides 2 emergency back up kr808's, the rest have all been sold in the classifieds. I started at the "top" with the woodvil. Now, I'm working my way down the food chain towards a mini, and mini woodvil eventually. REO's are like a collectable harley or antique car, in that you can just about gurantee you will get all your money back in the event you have to, or need to sell them... No matter which you decide to try, nothing we say can prepare you for the actual "hands on" experience of that first reo vape session!:vapor:

You are about to enter into a totally different realm to vaping. Reoville is such a wonderful community to be part of. The REOnauts here are the best peeps there are.
I moved to Reoville last month. I was born in VaporKingland in July 2009. When I was 2 yrs old I moved to eGoville (nice place to live, but I wanted more out of the community). I heard about this wonderful place called Reoville. Full of wonderful people called Reonauts. There leader, King RedEyeDancer (Rob) is the Reo Wizard, known to create a wonderful gadget that produces magical plumes of vapor. Magic Porky dust is used to make these magical units.
I said to myself, I need to learn more about this great place. I searched hi and low, gathering all the info I could. The decision was an easy one. I packed up, left eGoville and moved to Reoville. The best move I have ever made. I am very happy now. I have found Vaping Heaven. I have a great family now. A great leader and pv creator who puts love, dedication, and fine craftmanship into his product. My Reo Mini black/silver arrived only 4 weeks ago. She rarely leaves the clutches of my hand(s). She performs great with NO flaws. Vaping Nirvana baby ! ! ! ! Hope to get her big brother (Grand) and Grandpa Woody (Woodvil) here soon.

Hey cannuck! Do yourself a favor and get a Grand. You won't regret it. I have all 3 mods and they are all great, but if I had to choose only 1, the Grand, no contest. The Woodvil while beautiful is more delicate by far, and I find the Grand hits a little harder than the Mini, likely due to different batts.

If you NEED the smaller size go for Mini. Otherwise Grand is king.
