Provari owners of both the standard and mini typically say, you can make the mini larger, but you can't make the standard smaller. The mini is more pocket-friendly.

The default standard size uses the 18490 battery, and can use the 18650 with the use of an extender cap.

The default mini uses the 18350 battery, and via use of extenders (Provape extension cap or 3rd party extender rings) can use either an 18490 or 18650.

Both the standard and the mini are the same price and have the same microprocessor inside. They are the same diameter. They differ only in their default length and in the batteries that they use.

Default color is silver. Colors with carokote paint will be an additional $25 (the cost that Provape is charged to have this applied). Default LED screen color is red; blue or green will cost an additional $15 (the additional cost that Provape pays to their supplier).

i do know of one place in town that has them for sure, but they are so freaking busy all the time that it is hard to ask to just look at something and not feel bad for not buying right then and there. they are really nice and all, just dont want to make them feel like i wasted their time. I do know when i asked how much they were she said 220, but i have no idea what came with them or if it was just the tube itself with no batteries no nothing.

I've held both of them,,,,,,,,the size on the larger one isn't that much bigger.

I considered the mini but when I realize that I can kill a MVP v2 in 6-8 hours (and that's 2600 mah), I decided I will probably NEVER use a small battery and decided to go for the larger one,,,,,

so some of it may depend on how much you vape.

Consider how you will be using it. Is it for home/desk use or on the fly. I chose the mini so I could mainly use it at work but it would be in my pocket or on a holster. Only problem with the standard mini configuration was that i needed more battery life so now i got the end cap for it for the 18490 battery and lasts all day. If you need super long battery life then the standard with extension cap will allow for 18650.

Right now I use a x6 and that is 1300 Mah battery. I make it all day easy. At least during the week at work. At home it makes it most of the day. I like small. I don't go out much so.... Maybe just the starter kit that has the two batteries on the mini would be fine. I like the look of the mini too. Will try the store I found on provape and go check it out.

I would go with the mini, because with this Tatroe Ring Provari Steel and the extension cap it vise you the flexibility to use 18350's, 18490's, as well as 18650's.
Sometimes at home I like using the 18350 as I have a couple of those. I have four 18490's if if running around local I carry a spare.
When I know I'm on an excursion I take my 18650's I had four but I gave a couple to my son. So I need a couple of more lol.

If you like smaller size then go for the mini and add an extension cap or buy extra batteries.

I have both sizes the standard and then later the mini, since having the mini I haven't used the standard once at all, I just trow in a new batterie and keep on vaping.

When you order batteries make sure the button top or better yet just order an extra set at Provape then you will know you have the right once.

Can you buy the batteries at a b & m store. Not necessarily a vape shop but like radio Shack or frys? Or even the chargers? Does anyone know? Just curious. I do have the want it now syndrome. I tried lookin buy seems all I could find was online.
Stores like Radio Shack and Fry's will not have the appropriate type of batteries. Most vape shops should have them.

Provape asks that you use only the red AW IMR batteries (button top only). However, some vape shops only carry Efest brand which will work. Do not use any battery that has "fire" in its name. Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected?

The charger should be a good quality one which can charge Li-Ion batteries and will automatically stop charging the battery when the battery is fully charged. Look for Xtar or Nitecore Intellicharger brand names. Avoid cheaper chargers like a Trustfire as these take an ungodly long time to charge batteries and also do not automatically stop charging after the battery is fully charged.

I would like to add from what limited research I have done AW's have the longest life cycle.
Don't get hung up on mah ratings meant how many hours the batt will last.
But charge cycles to me are more important. Longer consistent life span.
AW batteries have a 500 charge life cycles and the others have 300 charge cycles.
There may be others that compare but have found them yet

Great advice all. I did go to provapes site and found a local authorized dealer. They were not far from the house so took a drive down there. They did not have the standard in Stock but did have some minis. That thing rocks. Got to vape a little on one of the employees own mini. I am sold. I must have one. Lol now to rummage the house to find things to sell on eBay so I can afford to get this little gem. Would love to get it from that shop but it is a little more than a hundred dollars more to have instant gratification. I will have to wait for the money then a few more days on snail mail.
