We could solve this semantics problem simply by buying all of our liquids from Chinese distributors.

After the package sits at the Hong Kong Post for 7-10 days, sealed in dark packaging, it gets tossed onto an airplane and lands in San Francisco. There, it goes through about a one week loop de loop wherein it is processed through the sorting facility, arrives at the same sorting facility, and processed through again.

Then it makes its way to your sorting facility, where a similar loop de loop often occurs. Then it goes to the unit responsible for delivering it and then finally, out for delivery.

Four weeks after the liquid was ordered, and heaven knows how long after it was mixed, it's perfectly aged. Or, matured. Or, whatever.

Good morning, dedicated vapers.

Situation: Allowing a recently purchased or recently mixed bottle of e-liquid to rest and reach the desired flavor profile is currently referred to as "steeping." This is inaccurate. Steeping is soaking a solid substance in a liquid in order to extract compounds (usually flavors) or to soften the solid.

The proper term for what we do with new liquids is "aging," and is similar to the process used to make an undrinkable brew turn into a delicious adult beverage.

Your mission, vapers, should you choose to accept it, is to refrain from using the "S" word when referring to the process of aging your e-liquids.

As always, should you or any of fellow vapers be caught or banned, the ECF will disavow any knowledge of your actions.

Good luck, vapers!

When I told my wife I need to steep the juices the first thing she said was like you steep tea. Aging is perfect, like like a great wine.

Take up the term analog as I have smoking cigarettes not analogs. Cigarettes is not a four letter word. I think we want new uses to see we gave up smoking and didn't give up analogs.

My nico'lade is stone cold top shelf chillin till it gets right with Jesus. Then I bust out my clouderizer and get cloudin' man. Laid back foggin' and doggin' till I get my G on then back to the top shelf cloudin' till rack time. No time to be foolin' with a wet bag of hammers, Jack.

add some cool guitar and a couple more verses and youll have The Juice Steeping Blues;-)

lol- I actually worked with a guy some years back who talked exactly like that all the time. At first I could hardly understand what he was saying but after I got used to him I found myself looking forward to him getting to work so we could talk. He was cool cat on so many levels. At the end of the day he would say things like "man, this wiz'erk is making my azz biz'erk. let's go throw down uptown and cool down, jack. Ur buying right?". lol

Reminds me of Gallo wine - "We will ship no wine before its time." ("It's 4:30 PM? Ship it!")

So is aging due to oxidation (opening, then shaking, allows O2 in), or some other chemical change (maybe due to UV exposure), or just a good old placebo?

I'm no scientist but I started DIY juice a month ago and time definitely makes a big difference. Fresh juice usually looks nothing like aged juice. When first mix a bottle you can clearly see the nic/vg/pg/flavor laying on top of each other in layers. You have to shake the bottle good just to get them mixed. I think because of the viscosity of pg/vg it takes a while to get the flavor molecules evenly disbursed. Don't think it's a chemical process like oxidation. Maybe something similar to osmosis.

I have no idea how the color changes. I've had light yellow juice turn red/pink over 2-3 weeks. The color change part is a little fascinating. It's also a sign that it's getting right with Jesus.

I've had strongly coloured juice go completely clear in strong sunlight.

Just to be totally 'clear' here, are ya talkin' 'bout nic laced e-liquid/joose/anti-freeze?

Also, may I inquire as to when did dis rare "strong sunlight" event occur in Salford?
