For several years in the '60s, my mother thought this was a Christmas tree. I never liked it and could hardly wait to go to my grandparents' house for Christmas vacation because they had a real tree, It was sturdy and lasted several years before the family convinced mom that we needed something else.

I agree, Joan. I never liked the aluminum trees, either. A fake green tree is nice as long as they are full and the branches are well done. In fact, that's what I use now.

One of the very first gifs I did. It is still a favorite though. The text animation was done pixel by pixel on each layer instead of just using a premade glitter animation. It was about 12 hours to get it to where I was happy with it. I was still in the process of learning how to use GIMP at the time. I knew a great deal more about that program by the time I finished this image

Nice! I've been tempted to learn GIMP. Free is so much more appealing than what they want for Photoshop.

There's a local TV station here that broadcasts something similar on Christmas morning... pretty smart, since they know everyone will be opening their presents and not paying much attention to the TV anyway!!
