You can't be talking about these guys, could you?? :D (I actually liked this song)

Another local band who is actually still kicking around... LOL!!

Hehehehe!:toast: Good one! No, actually it was a newer band....can't place the name, but you could tell the singer was trying to copy the Creed/Scott Staph thing with the goat voice, like a lot of them are doing it seems. Sounds like Mr. Ed saying "Wii...ill..lll..bur...rrrr" combined with The Swedish Chef. But actually, I like some Creed tunes.

Thank you for sharing a special memory and song with us! Yes, both of my parents are gone. I really miss them...especially this time of year. I miss Mom's peach cobbler at Christmas and the smell of Dad's cherry pipe tobacco and Old Spice cologne.

Thanks for playing!

My first "away from home" summer camp was a tennis camp for kids ranging in ages 8 to 16. At the end of the week-long camp, a big dance was held. Being 9 or 10, I had not yet experienced a school dance, so it was very exciting--except that few of the other kids my age chose to go and I was very shy. An older girl (I honestly don't know how old she was--all teenagers were just "older") took pity on the shy boy sitting by himself and asked him to dance when this song came on. Woohoo!

Many years later, I shared this story with the band when I had drinks with them after-hours at a local club.

Very cool indeed! Did he talk about his "Sharona" after the show? :) Of course, you know the story about her... ;)

No--we sort of kept the conversation away from music and fan-type oohs and ahs. It was Prescott Niles's (the bassist) birthday, so it was really just hanging out and just talking over drinks. My friend and I had the fortune to be hanging in the crowd next to the guy who cleaned a couple of the band member's pools. He was also a friend and so drove down the road from LA to San Diego for the show and celebrating afterward. It was he who kept us in the club after people cleared out and the band members came out. The birthday boy was the last to emerge from the dressing room. LOL.

I was envious of my friend when he told me that he'd been taken by his dad to see "Heavy Metal." As it was, the soundtrack became a regular staple on the weekends when we hung out. I did ultimately see the film, too, but I had to wait until it hit the discount theaters. Lots of good tunes on the record (my favorite is Veteran of the Psychic Wars by Blue Oyster Cult), but this song--the first track on the soundtrack--sets the stage for all of them.

New contest, yay!

Ok, so I'm thinking "girl you know its tru" by milli vanilli. Because my friend and I used to make fun of them in high school. We saw a skit on in living color where they were spoofed so we video taped ourselves in spandex, wigs and barets immitating them in the most ridiculous ways. 1990. And yes I have it converted to DVD so the videos still exist. Lol

Sent from a cool but overpriced phone on TapaCrack at yo mama's house.
