One of the things I thought was fun when I was a little kid was to ride the bus home with our maid. Every so often, my mom would give her a little extra and we would ride the bus downtown, get off to transfer lines and stop at McDonald's for lunch, and then ride the second line to her home. To this day, I associate You are the Sunshine of My Life by Stevie Wonder with those trips because we heard it on multiple trips when we were at McDonalds.

i love the beach and when ever i hear this it makes me happy and seems to wash away your troubles

The memory I have attached to this song is of proposing to my wife. We were vacationing on Maui and were pulling into the aquarium parking lot when this song came on the radio. I had just proposed to her the night before.

This reminds of my Dad...LOL He always sang this to me. As it is the month and year I was born. And stories from both my parents...I guess it was a heck of a night I came to be. Let's just say my Dad was escorted out of the hospital...crazy Viking he was. I miss him very much.

I used be embarrassed when he sang this out loud ANYWHERE...but now it makes me kinda sad.

Touch Me by the Doors

The first girl that I can honestly say I truly deeply loved chose this as "our song".

The lyrics that made her opt for this...

Now I'm gonna love you
Til the heavens stop the rain
I'm gonna love you
Til the stars fall from the sky for you and I

Every time I hear this I still think about JMS and the beautiful 3 years we had together from the summer of 83 until the end of 86...damn long distance relationships

This song comes to mind, I've so many memories with this playing and a couple that come to mind is driving down lake shore drive with my girl friend on a hot summer night & parking by the lake and hearing the sounds, in the moonlight & this song playing so peacefully in the back ground on the radio, so beautiful. Another was seeing them at an outdoor amphitheater in concert, was so great, I could never forget and with the full Philharmonic Orchestra, it was unbelievably GREAT! Really love the poem at the end.

The Night: Nights In White Satin

Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters I've written,
Never meaning to send.

Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore.

'Cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.

Gazing at people,
Some hand in hand,
Just what I'm going thru
They can understand.

Some try to tell me
Thoughts they cannot defend,
Just what you want to be
You will be in the end,

And I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Oh, how, I love you.

Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters I've written,
Never meaning to send.

Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore.

'Cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Oh, how, I love you.

'Cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Oh, how, I love you.

Late Lament

Breathe deep the gathering gloom,
Watch lights fade from every room.
Bedsitter people look back and lament,
Another day's useless energy spent.
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one,
Lonely man cries for love and has none.
New mother picks up and suckles her son,
Senior citizens wish they were young.
Cold hearted orb that rules the night,
Removes the colours from our sight.
Red is grey and yellow white.
But we decide which is right.
And which is an illusion?

Love your tale DT and your drip tips and story are beautiful! They're glass...right?
Love the Lightning of Zeus one and Galmours Silver cloud. Well think I love them all but those two
really stood out to me! :) Thanks for the contest and a chance to win one!

What memories this one has. Saw them in Denver, Mile High Stadium in the 80's (this was from a newer concert but best sound and vid than others & much the same as 80's one) & this song. I've never seen anything like it, it was an extraordinary extravaganza, not a concert, it was a vision of site & sound like none other and me and family and friends had one whole row of seats 15 rows back from the stage, so I can never forget this and never will, as the memory of being there with my family & good friends!
