This sone has been going through my head the last week....mostly because it's been raining heavy and it's November....so when I say it I think of it....I forgot to mention that I did get to see them while they were on top of the world...and it had to be one of the best concerts I ever went to..........I love this song.....

Not an entry....I was at a small upscale restaurant outside of Austin last year, and Robert Plant was there dining. I didn't recognize him until he walked by our table on his way out. I was in such shock that I missed my opportunity to throw myself at his feet and make a fool of myself

DNC..

OMG, I would have died.

A little late in getting these in. I got this CD for free when it came out and really like it. The title track is one that has several meanings for me, but one of them is memories of the summer in which I met my wife. The group has since shed many of its direct Rush and Kansas inspirations, but the some of the songs since their first album are pretty good.

I thought the contest ended last night, so I'm glad I didn't post the song I was going to then...
Been watching some animal rescue stuff on TV today... which brought back a memory of this song, and some little baby ducks!!

I was about 10 yrs. old and we would go to the neighborhood park to play in the Summer, taking a short-cut thru the cemetery. There was a big pond there with lots of ducks, and people would drop off the ducks from Easter there, too, when they got too big to keep. (the chickens would end up at the race track... lol) I'm so glad they stopped selling those in the pet shops!!

We used to feed them and check out how the eggs in the nests were doing, and one day when there were baby ducks, one of my friends and I asked a groundskeeper if we could have a couple of the babies... and he said we "could have as many as we could catch!!" :D

So we each managed to catch a little duckling and found a box to carry them in. This song had just come out, and we decided to name them Hanky and Panky... and on the way home we made up some new words to the song. I still remember some of them, too... LOL!!

It was called: "Our ducky's names are Hanky Panky"
"I saw him sitting on a lily pad,
He was the 1st ducky I had.
A cute little ducky sitting all alone,
Hey little ducky can I take you home??"

Of course, when we got home our parents made us take them right back!!! :(
But every time I hear this song I still think about those cute little ducklings...

Watch closely at about 1:10, when the tremolo arm comes off in the guitar players' hand...
he tries playing for a bit like that, but then sticks it in his mouth... Hysterical!!!!

I found the original version of the song by a group called The Raindrops, who actually wrote it for the 'B' side of a single they were recording. But another group recorded it before theirs was released, and this is it...

That 1st entry sat on my computer all day and I finally got it posted... and I'm posting this one for no other reason than I'm watching the original 1931 'Frankenstein' movie and it made think of this... :D

When I first saw 'Young Frankenstein', I almost PMSL when Peter Boyle (R.I.P.) opened his mouth and said "puttin' on the Ritz"!!!

One interesting thing was that Mel Brooks got to use the original electrical equipment in the lab that was created for the movie back in 1931...
