Nice solution on the switch pin / button coming loose.. I think I may have a small enough nut from one of my AGA-T2 spare parts bag.. :)

Now, my suspicion regarding the EHPro's DHX-TS GGTS clone being made by Tobeco seems to be correct: (Copied from another post I made)

Yep, I thought the EHPro DHX-TS GGTS clone was made by Tobeco... Certainly explains the Rainbow's quality being much better... Especially considering the DHX-TS's incompatibility with the MKB-TS, rough threading, and poorly drilled AFC holes.

About 1 mm is amount of space needed to be taken up for the bolt to bottom out in the bottom of the nut.
Even cut a little piece off a small machine screw, just something 1 mm and metal to .... against.

Another thing regarding the EHPro DHX-TS.... The bottom cap will not interchange with the MKB-TS. and I don't want to strip the plating off to try further. After cleaning the the top tube threads with a brass wire brush, I was able to get the Rainbow stealth cap to screw all the way down with some effort. It actually is more flush than on the MKB-TS. I would swap top tubes, but the damn thing will not screw all the way down the MKB's telescope without threads showing no matter what I do.

As I posted before, the DHX-TS's bottom tube will not thread into the MKB-TS's telescope at all. The telescope's top threading will not interchange at all. The collector tank O-ring is missing, and will more than likely leak without one. The AFC ring does not have an O-ring installed. Just a cheap one on the collector tank's top threading, which really doesn't work well.

I'm posting this info because I've noticed a couple vendors selling the EHPro (Tobeco) DHX-TS for around $90.00. One would be MUCH better served sticking with the MKB-TS. I will just keep it to use a Hercules or Term-C / GGTS base on.

Was Curious if anyone had a chance to compare the EH-PRO MKB to Rainbows MKB yet.

I did over at Mich's CoOp thread. I purchased one to evaluate. It's no MKB-TS for sure. It's made by Tobeco. The threading is thin, and rough, and is for the most part incompatible with the MKB-TS..

EDIT: For a stand-alone mod which will accept GG threaded attys, it's not bad for the price I paid. (I think around $37.00) The tubes are the same diameter and thickness as the MKB-TS. It's just the rough threading, sloppy hole drilling, missing O-rings, and incompatibility with the MKB-TS that turns me off. I wouldn't buy another one, even at the price I paid. But, that's just me. Other's may like it. I know damn well I wouldn't shell-out $80-90.00 for it after owning one. I would throw down $60-70.00 for another MKB-TS gladly. :)

i figure this "could" if you want, change (extend) the throw... depending on what you use. ?
could be desirable for some.

It didn't change the distance between the brass plunger and the axis on mine, that won't change, so the travel is the same. If you put something bigger than about 1 mm the button will extend on the outside of the tube by that much so only space it the amount needed for the bolt to bottom in the nut.

Thanks for this info. With RH MKB-TS's being sold out everywhere, I was considering the EHPro, at about the same price as the MKB. I'll just wait for the MKB to get back in stock.

Still looking for a GGTS base, 9€ shipping for a 12€ part is ridiculous, and not sure if I trust the 3€ throw it an envelope and forget it shipping.

Thanks for that heads up Techno. I have 2 but may get a third. The few builds I've used with the 510 have been less than stellar but that would be mostly for my Provari and I like the sub ohm coils. Base is a godsend for the MKB.

These bases are compatible for the conversion kit which I hope to get sometime in the near future?

NP... :) Yep, I've been using the kit on the GGTS base since I've had it. ;)

About this time last week I stripped a couple of those threads on the brass pin in the switch that cinches up the pin to the cap. I just shoved some wire in there myself but it changed the over all length on the pin and cap together messing w the throw a bit. Ill be hittin g up the hardware store tomorrow after work for a bolt to cut. Can you give a stud size or diameter to shoot for? Dont know why I didn't think of stuffing something more solid in there myself when I had it all apart

as always thanks for the tips dw!

Here is what I used for a couple of MKB switches, I cut off about three threads worth to achieve just about 1 mm

And here is the piece that I'm after:
